Alessandro got up, calling out my name once more.

I stood still, not knowing what I should I do.
He took a step forward, and that's when the flight response kicked in.

"Camilla thank you so much for today, I'll see you at work," I say as I began taking a few steps back.

Alessandro matched my speed, making his way towards me. I turned around, running at full speed, so grateful to be wearing trainers.

Hitting nearly everyone on the way to the exit, I finally made it out. I slowed down, trying to catch some air, grabbing my phone to call for a cab.

"Victoria it's not what it looks likes."

I stopped. I didn't turn around. I didn't want to see him.

"I don't care about what was happening."

He placed his hand on my shoulder, turning me to face him.

"Then why did you run out?"

Trying to come up with a lie, I blurt the next thing that came into my head, "I left the oven on. Don't really need my apartment to burn down."

He nodded, "I'll take you back home, better than getting a cab."

I shake my head to his response, "I don't mind taking a cab, thanks."

His eyebrows raised, his hand taking mine and walking me towards his car.

"Alessandro, really you don't have to. I don't want to burden you."

A soft chuckle escaped him, "What burden would you ever be to me?"

"Plenty," the word coming out barely a whisper.

He opens the door for me, helping me in.

I sigh, realizing this was just some kind of repeat of what had happened a while ago. He got into the car, driving onto the main road.

What was I doing in here?

"Alessandro, drop me off here, a cab or I can walk. It's fine." My hands heading to remove the seatbelt wrapped around me.

"Victoria, please stop. There's no need for a cab. I'm can take you myself."

"No, please I really don't need you to drive me home."

"I'm sorry for what you saw there."

I swallowed, "Its fine, why would it matter to me."

"She's Lorenzos' personal assistant-"

"You don't have to explain yourself."

"She needed some things, and Lorenzo was busy, so he asked me to take her. "

He looked over to me, "She doesn't mean anything to me."

He seemed so happy with her. Had I even made him laugh like that? He was so shut off with me, and open with her. With us it was only ever just...sex.

"I don't want to be in this car right now."

"You don't trust me, do you?"

"Thats not what I meant."

"Then what do you mean."

I didn't want to show him I cared about him, what good would that do to either of us? But fuck it.

"You were laughing, being open with her, and with me, well."

"Well, what?"

"All we have is sex. You're always so cold around me."
