chapter nine scream queen
━━━━━━ ◦ ❖ ◦ ━━━━━━
IT WAS time to tell someone about her dreams. Odessa Stones knew they were getting out of hand. It had been a couple days since Boyd died and everything seemed to be on a stand still. The Stone's dreams of Silas and their time together had turned into something different—something darker. In every dream, she remembered waking up and not seeing the surroundings of her room in the McCall residence. Instead, she found herself standing in a bright room, and she wasn't alone...
Odessa looked down at her clenched hands in frustration. She'd been in this place for how many years and she still couldn't get her claws out? And what was even worse was no one was helping her. How do they expect their students to succeed if they aren't helping? The blonde rubbed her sore cheek from her superior slapping it. There were so many things wrong with this place, Odessa always thought, too many to count.
"You know," a boy's voice rang from next to her, "you didn't deserve to get punished. Everyone knows you're having the most trouble with learning."
The Stone didn't look at the boy, but quirked a brow at his sentence, "uh... thanks?"
The brunette moved in front of the girl, sitting on the bench, swinging his legs in the air, "no need to thank me. Just stating the truth."
Odessa didn't know how to respond. She didn't have any friends here, she's never had friends ever, for as long as she could remember. The only thing she'd ever been close to was her stuffed bear, Luna. The blonde finally lifted her head to meet his gaze, "why are you talking to me?"
"Because I find you interesting," he spoke simply, "and I think you and I would be great friends."
The Stone had seen this boy around before. Truth be told, he sat at the same table as her during lunch, even though the girl was known to eat alone, he still sat there. And even though they had never talked until now, his presence by her at lunch made her feel more at ease then she normally was. With those thoughts piling in her head, she pulled out her hand for him to shake, "Odessa... Stone."
"Silas Campbell," the brunette, Silas, smiled and placed his hand in hers.
Odessa gasped awake, sitting up on her bed. With heavy breaths, she glanced at her clock, it reading 11:34 pm. The blonde looked down at her hand, almost as if she could still feel his hand in hers. She breathed one word in the silence of her bedroom.
"Silas..."
While letting herself calm down, her door burst open to reveal a panicking Scott, "get up—get dressed."
