Chapter 6

It's been a whole hell week for me. Midterms came, requirements filed up. I even thought I cannot survive! Sa sobrang dami ng gawain akala ko talaga di ko na matatapos.

I think that's really what college life feels like. Like it's opening a new door for us to realize what the world really is. Hindi na pwedeng chill lang. Hindi na pwede yung 'sakto' lang. It always needs to be more.

Because this will test our skill. It will what dictate our future. And it's kinda pressuring.

"Finally! Last exam done!" sigaw ni Zoey nang nakalabas kami ng university. My smile widened.

"Atlast!" sigaw ko din at parehas kaming tumawa dalawa.

"Sasabay ka ba samin? Nasa parking na si daddy." sabi nya sa akin. Umiling ako.

"Nope. May pupuntahan pa ako." sabi ko at tumango naman sya.

For the whole week palagi akong sumasabay sa kanila. Zoey and I always have a study out. It's either on Zoey's place or mine. But most of the time, sa kanila na lang kami dahil alaga kami ng foods dun. Hindi kagaya sa apartment ko na sariling luto kami.

And for that week, I haven't been in the coffee shop again. Zoey is always with me. We are always studying and doing requirements. I have no time to go there.

And I miss it.

"Text me when you're home?" Zoey asked when she climbed in their car. I nodded.

"Yes mom." I teased and she snorted. I waved at Tito Oscar and he salute me.

After that, I just found myself walking in the same way I missed for the past week. Ganito pala yung feeling na nasanay ka sa isang bagay tapos biglang nawala. It feels like, something is incomplete.

The chime rings when I entered. Nag-angat nh tingin si Sam at nginitian ko sya. Umawang ang labi nya pagkatapos ay ngumiti din ng malawak. Naglakad ako papalapit sa kanya.

"Hi." I greeted.

"Long time no see Miss Coffee Lover." aniya at pabiro akong umirap.

"Long time no see Mr. Stranger." I smirked and he just shrugged his head.

Bumaling sya sa gawaan ng order at ginawa ang usual order ko. Ngumuso ako habang pinapanood syang gawin ang order ko.

"Haven't see you in a while." sabi nya.

"Oo nga e. Been busy about the midterms and reqs. I almost die!" I said exxagerately. He chuckled.

"I'm glad you're still alive."

"Same." sabi ko at tumawa kaming dalawa. Napabuntong hininga ako ng malakas.

"I miss this." wala sa sariling sabi ko. Sam looked up at me and I froze realizing what I just said. Napatuwid ako ng tayo at napakurap.

"I-I mean.... I miss my coffee." sabi ko at nag-iwas ng tingin. Nakita kong ngumisi sya sa peripheral view ko.

"Well, same." he said mocking me. Umismid ako.

Lumapit ulit ako sa counter. Walang ibang customer sa akin bukod sa isang matandang babae sa may dulo. Pinanood ko syang gawin ang order ko ng bigla akong may maalala.
