The man stood hidden in the crowd, watching as a stranger, a fellow Creature, was tackled to the ground. The dumb player had let fear take over and revealed in the middle of a crowded street their magic.
Now they were going to die.
But they didn't have to. The hidden man could easily sneak in there, wipe out the people holding them down, grab them, and run. He could do it.
He could.
But he won't.
He had learned years ago that risking his life for someone else was not an option.
Someone else's stupidity wasn't going to be the reason he will be revealed.
Because, let's be honest, he will be revealed. Someday, somehow, every Creature will be revealed.
But for now, the man will stay hidden.
The other Creature's panicked screams were drowning out the cheers from the crowd. A person pulled out a bow, drawing an arrow, and pointed it at the Creature's head.
The man sucked in a breathe, spinning on his heal and walking away, trying to drown out the other's cries for help.
Only seconds later, the cries stopped, the cheers loudened, and the man's strides quickened.
