I sat in the ER, waiting for an assignment. I had gotten to work when everyone had been in surgeries all day. Lucky me, I got non-surgical cases. Just to my luck, I saw Jaehyun getting out of the elevator. I jumped up, walking over to him with a small smile.

"Hey, you," I mumbled. He smiled.

"Hey, you. What are you doing down here?" He asked. I sighed.

"Aunt Flo- I mean Dr. Turner assigned me to her case today. I was paged to the ER, something about a pregnant woman on the way, I don't know." I explained. He smiled, eyes softly glancing over at mine.

"What?" I asked. He chuckled.

"Your hair is curly again. I think I like it better that way," he mumbled, causing a smile to spread on my face.

"Oh, you noticed," I mumbled.

"It's kind of impossible not to notice you." He shrugged. I chuckled, walking to grab a pair of gloves.

"Well, I would much rather be on Gonzalez's service today," I mumbled, walking out to wait for the ambulance. He followed me.

"Isn't he covering the ER today?" He asked. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Uh, why would a world-renowned cardiothoracic surgeon cover the ER?" I asked. He shook his head.

"I'm not sure. But I think it's because he wants to work an extra shift to pay more because their anniversary is coming up and he wants to take Natalie somewhere special." Jaehyun explained. I nodded, fiddling with the string for the trauma gown. Jaehyun noticed my struggling, causing him to walk over behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Wh-what are you doing?!" I panicked. He chuckled softly, his breath tickling my ear.

"I'm helping you with your trauma gown. Hold still," he whispered. He brought his hands to the string, pulling them back and tying them on my waist. His hands lingered on my hips for a while, but he slowly pulled them away when he heard footsteps approaching. The footsteps scared us both, causing us to look back.

"Dr.G-gonzalez? Wh-what are you doing here?" I stuttered, stepping away from Jaehyun. He sighed.

"Natalie said for our fifth year anniversary she would like to go far away on a beautiful resort in Thailand. And I thought by then I would have enough money. Guess which year this anniversary is?" He asked. I chuckled.

"What are you doing out here, Jung?" Brandon asked. Jaehyun cleared his throat, looking at me and then back at him.

"Um... Camil- uh Dr.Janssen and I were just chatting. but now we're done chatting so I'm gonna go" He explained, walking away. I looked down at my feet.

"Is something going on between you and Jae?" He asked. I furrowed my eyebrows.

"No, we're just friends," I explained. He nodded.

"Good, cuz I don't think that would be a good idea." He explained, causing me to scoff.

"Wh- why have you been so overprotective of me lately?" I asked him. He shrugged.

"I guess you don't remember asking me to be your older brother." He joked, walking to the ambulance. I stood there dumbfounded, wondering what the hell he was talking about.

"Maggie, Daina? Is everything ok? The baby?" I asked. Daina gave birth a few weeks ago and I helped Dr. Turner deliver and perform surgery on the baby.
