After his fight with the Upper Moon 2, Shin was called by Ubayashiki.
Ubayashiki: Shin, I know that you want revenge for your mother's death, but you disobeyed my orders.
Shin: I am very sorry master.
Ubayashiki: I recommend for you to take a break for a while. Let your head cool. For vengeance blinds the clearest eye.
Shin: Mastee please give me another chance!
Ubayashiki: Come back once you have cooled off.
With that, Shin was kicked from the corps at least temporarily. Shin was devasted but Ubayashiki did this for his own good. Although Giyuu was devastated by his wife's death, he left the corps to take care of Shin and his sister Gina. Shin on the other hand, barely spends time with his family anymore. He is obssesed with killing demons. Now that he is kicked from the corps...
Shin: Since they kicked me from the corps, I guess I'll have to hunt demons on my own.
Giyuu: Shin! You haven't been home in a while.
Shin: Hey dad.
Gina: Nee-sama!
Shin: Hello Gina!
Giyuu: I heard you got kicked from the corps. Let's talk later.
Shin: Ok.
