life update! so, things have been hectic! on february 28th i had to go to the emergency room for the first time! i've never had an iv, or a covid test, or a surgery, but february 28th changed that! i wasn't really expecting it, but here i am.
turns out i have a super sexy chronic disease called eosinophilic esophagitis (or eoe for short) and my esophagus was completely closed at the bottom! it also turns out that i might be allergic to dairy, eggs, and soy, so i've been put on an elimination diet for the next two months!
i'm going to be getting surgery every two months for anywhere from 6-12 months, and i'll be on medication for the rest of my life.
basically, i'm 15 and my entire life just changed.
i'm trying really hard to keep a good attitude, but shit like this really gets in the way of my everyday routine. my mental health crashed at the beginning of march, and i'm still trying to get into a regular headspace.
this might sound bitchy, but i'm going to say it: i will not be apologizing for taking a break. i know that i've always apologized for when i go on hiatuses and stuff, but this really made me realize that i have nothing to apologize for. people need breaks sometimes, there's no shame in that.
regardless of everything i've gone through, i will not stop writing as a whole. jouska is still ongoing, i just need to get back into a habit of writing. ambedo, opia, and sonder will still be written someday. it's all just a matter of time.
