The rest of the night was a misery for Sophie. It was like the universe was conspiring against her. Everywhere she looked, she found something to remind herself of Keefe. And when she closed her eyes, she'd open for them to be filled with tears as she reminisced.
It wasn't that she didn't want to not remember Keefe. Heck, he was one of her best friends. They had an understand that nobody else had. He understood her best.
A piercing headache throbbed herself out of her daydreams. She knew no matter how much she tried to avoid thinking about him, she'd always come back to her unfair reality.
She got up to pace. If she kept sitting any longer, she'd burst- both metaphorically, and literally, into tears. Not that she was doing a good job keeping herself together.
Grady and Edaline had left Sophie alone after she drank the bottle of Youth. She was assuming they hailed Alden and filled him in, as well as the rest of the gang.
Meanwhile, Sophie's thoughts raced.

You didn't take time to learn about your powers.

You didn't even say goodbye.
