In that moment I realized
That you didn't, cuz if you did
You'd realize the second you looked me in the eye
The hurt that I replaced with a fake smile
Like I'd recognize yours in no time
And that one time brought along with it
Thousands of times into my notice
That my love for you had compelled me to brush off
All the times when I should've countered you with a "fuck off"
One truth and all the blinds fell down
One flicker and all my perfect turned up-side down
One question and all the answers dawned on.
I was reading the poems that i write and it dawned upon me, that most of them are about heartbreak... Strange? no, cuz for someone who's all about love, even heartbreaks are romanticized.
