Out The door

When you walked out the door,

I came running behind you,

I swear I did,

You swung the door shut in anger,

I was trying to stop you,

And got my finger in the door,

It was bleeding, I was crying out your name,

Hoping that the pain in my voice could bring you back

Hoping that you still loved me enough to care if I cried

Hoping that the person who couldn't see a mark on my hand

Would come back running if he saw how bad my hand was bleeding

And maybe you couldn't hear my screams even in the dead silence

And maybe when you turned around and saw me on the ground,

Crying, hurt, helpless, miserable,

You couldn't see me properly enough to come back help,

Who am I even trying to convince?

Maybe you just didn't care enough to even turn around and see.
