"So when did you- you know- fall in love with her?" Thomas smirked, knowing he had him right where I wanted him, with his head in Fionaland.
"Woah," Newt defeated with his hands up, "What?"
"I may be slow to getting to know things around here, but...

"Gally?" Chuck's voice said above a whisper.
I instantly turned around with a smile on my face went I saw him, I took a step forward, but Minho's hand pulled me back, "Don't. He's been stung."
I now noticed the blue vein protruding from his skin as it traveled up his neck and the sweat at covered his body. He was panting, unable to catch his breath with tears coming from his eyes. The last thing I noticed was his firm grip on a gun at his side, "We can't leave."
Thomas put his hands up, "We did. Gally, we're out. We're free."
Gally cocked his head to the side, "Free? You think we're free out there?"
"No," he told us. "No, there's no escape from this place."
"Gally, listen to me. You're not thinking straight. You're not, it's okay. Now, we can help you. Just put down the gun.
"I belong to the maze." He answered, barely even looking at me as he raised the gun to Thomas.
"Gally! Gally! It's okay. Look at me! I'll go back with you, okay?" He finally turned his focus to me. The gun was still raised. "Everything will go back to the way it was. Just put down the gun and we'll go our separate ways. I'll even come with you."
The way I saw Newt's grip readjusted on his machete said differently.
His whole body twitched, like he wanted that but couldn't fight the poison in his blood. "We all belong to the maze."
"Gally!" I shouted just before I saw the spear pierce his chest. I screamed, sliding on my knees to catch him before his body could hit the ground. Tears freely fell from both of our eyes.
"I'm sorry." He muttered between struggling breathes.
I held my hand to the wound site. "No, I'm sorry." I cried, "I never should have left. I never should have left you."
Through my sobs hear the crash of another. I looked back at my friends. Chuck had fallen, a small hole in his upper chest, leaking blood onto his shirt and then onto the floor. Thomas dropped with him, trying to lessen his fall.
"Thomas..." Chuck managed to get out.
"Oh, shit. Shit." Thomas repeated, frantically putting pressure on his wound. "Look at me, look at me!"
I choked on tears now, coughing and panting as my body started a panic attack. I put more pressure on Gally's wound. Looking back up at him to see his eyes now closed.
I shook his face, "Gally! Gally, come on! Wake up!"
"Chuck, look at me, all right?" Thomas begged as Chuck wheezed in pain. "I got you, buddy. Just hang on. It's okay."
"Shuck... Shuck. Shuck!" I screamed. Not know how to fix any of this.
"Thomas, Thomas..." Chuck managed to speak out, using his last bit of strength to give him a wooden figure. "No, Chuck. You're gonna give it to them yourself. Remember, I told you that."
"Take it." He ordered again.
"No." Thomas shook his head with watery eyes, "No, Chuck, you're gonna get- Chuck. Chuck? Hey." Chuck's eyes closed, making our fears come true as he left this world. Thomas fell apart, shaking him, "Hey, Chuck, come on! Wake up!"
"Damn it!" I screamed looking back and forth at the lifeless bodies. "We made it. I did it, I got us out. We're supposed to be fine now. Shit!"
"I'm sorry!" Thomas wailed, crying over Chuck's body, falling into pieces like me.
"Get up, Chuck! Come on! Chuck!" They pulled Thomas off the floor, not being gentle about it. I hugged Gally tighter, knowing I would be peeled away next. "You can't just leave him there!"
I felt gloved hands grip around my shoulders, "Stop! Let me go! Don't touch me! Don't make me leave him. Shit! No, please!" They pulled harder, making me lose grip on his arms and only have his shirt balled up in my hand. "Gally! I can't leave him again! Stop it!"
With one last pull his shirt ripped from my hands, I sobbed, fighting, kicking, and screaming. They picked me up off the ground, so without even walking I saw Chuck's and Gally's bodies laying on the floor.
I was dragged through the doors, making my senses come back to me as I felt the wind from a helicopter staying me with sand. I collected myself the best I could, noticed Newt was fighting whoever were these men in the black suits. He didn't stop until I reached him when we were both thrown into the helicopter. He hugged me, pressing his lips to my forehand as I gave up all my fighting in his arms.
A man in front of us put down his black mask, as the helicopter departed from the ground. "You guys all right?" We exchanged glances but did not reply. "Don't worry. You're safe now. Relax, kid. Everything is gonna change."
We flew right over the maze. We all peered out the window to see the metal labyrinth WCKD had constructed to keep us locked up. Everything we knew was inside that place. Every memory was tied to a few square miles of space. This helicopter was the box all over again, going somewhere we did not know, with no idea of how to proceed and no understanding of the world.
Ava Paige POV
I stood in front of my colleagues, some in hologram like Janson who could not be present at the meeting. "I think it's safe to say the Maze Trials were a complete success. I wasn't expecting so many survivors, but... the more the merrier." I concluded, pleased to have such a continuation with more subjects. "Thomas continues to surprise and impress. And for now, they seem to have taken the bait. It's too soon to say... but they could be the key to everything. So let's move forward. It's time now to begin Phase Two." I sighed, sitting down in my chair at the head of the table. "To start, Janson, wipe the girl's memory again."
