"So when did you- you know- fall in love with her?" Thomas smirked, knowing he had him right where I wanted him, with his head in Fionaland.
"Woah," Newt defeated with his hands up, "What?"
"I may be slow to getting to know things around here, but...

I awoke to the unmistakable sound of propellers. The haunting first warning of WCKD. They wanted to own everything, the land, the sky, and most of all, us.
Orders came with my next breath, waking all the boys up. Minho had always been a light sleep, making him the first awake.
Sonya and Harriet's heads were up next finding their guns and arming themselves. I wished we had done the same. We knew that with meant, they were here for us. They brought the fight here.
"How did they find us?" Aris yelled over the competition
"Find weapons! anything!" I screamed, taking a knife off the desk beside my hammock.
"Stay close," Newt advised, I followed out right behind him.
A WCKD berg had already landed when we exited the tent. There were calls for action all around us. Right arm members were running, for weapons, ammo, and to guard different immunes. We took two steps before I heard the familiar charge of their electric shock guns beside my left ear.
"You know what to do." The WCKD soldier declared.
Newt and I lifted our hands up. I prayed the others wouldn't make the same mistake and check their surroundings before leaving the tent. They brought us to the center of it all. Forcing me to my knees in front of a woman in all white. This must be the infamous Ava Paige.
"Amira Saleh." She gazed down at me. "Or do you prefer Fiona now?"
Minho and Fry were pushed to their knees on the other side of me. I closed my eyes, accepting our darkening fate. At least Thomas wasn't here, he could escape this. WCKD wanted him for personal reasons, didn't matter if he was dead or alive.
I spit on her white scarf, earning me a bash in the head from the gunman behind me. It threw me forward, smashing me into the dirt as well.
"No!" Newt begged as they lifted my body back up into a sitting position. "Keep your bloody hands off her!"
"If does that again or tries to run..." Janson's voice emerged behind me. "Shoot the boys. Start with the blonde."
The world spun slightly, I couldn't tell if there was truly light flashing before my eyes or if it was a repercussion of the head trauma.
"How many did we get?" Ava's voice echoed in my brain.
He shrugged, "All of them. Give or take."
"Give or take what?"
"They lost a few."
Her eyes rummaged through all the faces in front of her and in the Berg. "Where's Thomas?"
"Right here." He walked out from the crowd and the chaos, right into her clutches.
This kid takes years off my life. He should be halfway up the mountain by now.
