The weekend had finally arrived after a long, exhausting week at school, and with my mom away for some work emergency, I was relaxing at home, watching TV.
Well, at least I was trying to do that.
In reality, it was way too hard to concentrate when the entire time, I couldn't get Kuroo out of my head.
Even though we had ditched the dance together and I enjoyed that more than I should have, I do kind of wish we'd stayed, just so we could show everyone we were... never mind.
Kuroo and I really weren't anything at the moment, and after that whole texting situation with Ayano, it was pretty clear to both of us that we had to stay under the radar for a while if we wanted to keep things a secret.
Whatever. I was fine with that.
Whatever these feelings were, the constant butterflies, the way my breath stopped for a moment every time he touched me... it was way too complicated.
Trying my best to stay distracted, I kept myself busy until noon, when I got a text from an unknown number. Confused, I picked it up to read the message.
Unknown:
Hey, y/n! I got a new number.
y/n:
hey, who's this?
Unknown:
Oh, my bad. It's Sugawara.
My heart dropped suddenly, and I sat up so quick my phone almost slipped out my friends. No fucking way. Out of all people...
Koshi Sugawara. My ex from Karasuno.
He was the one guy I could say I'd been in love with at some point, or at least so I thought. Either way, we had been pretty serious.
I sighed, clutching onto my phone as I stared blankly at the screen, wondering how he'd got my number again. We'd pretty much cut off all ties after out breakup.
It hadn't involved cheating, at least I could say that.
But... the two of us just weren't able to get past our differences and got into a huge argument. Said things we shouldn't have. And by then, it was too late to apologize.
It was hard to physically avoid him because he played on the volleyball team I managed, but from that moment on, we were nothing.
If there was one reason I didn't mind moving schools to Nekoma, it would be because it didn't have Suga.
Biting the inside of my cheek, I contemplated whether or not I should text him back. It had been months since we'd last talked. Maybe he was over it? Was I over it?
y/n:
oh, hi sugawara-san
I held my phone close to me, trying to keep my tone as formal as possible while I waited for a response.
Sugawara:
How are you?
