After the party, Kuroo had taken me home. It was pretty late by then, so my mom was already asleep. I'd left in a rush so I didn't have to face anyone else considering what I just did.
We had quietly locked ourselves in my room, but we didn't do anything crazy. We cuddled, me laying there in his arms as he held me tight. Neither of us had to say it, but something had changed all of a sudden. It was like a sense of trust. Any rivalry we may have had... it was gone in that moment.
I was almost ashamed at how quickly I'd folded to Kuroo, but it had felt right. I still hated myself for what I did to Kenma, and I had no idea how to tell him, which bothered me.
What bothered me more, though, after Kuroo snuck out from my bed the next morning, was the burning question of "what are we?"
I wasn't entirely sure where me and Kuroo's relationship would go next, but I knew I wanted a lot more than just casual hookups. And I was pretty sure he did too.
The rest of the weekend passed by fairly quick and when school started up again, I got ready and went outside, happy to see Kuroo's car waiting for me like it used to. I'd texted Kenma earlier I had a ride so that he wouldn't show up to walk me.
I smiled as I walked over to the car, giving Kuroo a quick kiss from his window before walking to the other side to take my seat. I saw him grinning to himself out of the corner of my eye, and thats when I knew I got him,
"You're unusually happy this early in the morning," Kuroo tilted his head at me as I slid into the car.
"Well, I am-"
"Especially for someone who still hasn't told their 'boyfriend' that they're over."
I groaned, "You just had to ruin my day, didn't you?"
"Don't lie to yourself. You know I made your day better," Kuroo responded in a smug voice, looking at my face as he laughed.
He leaned in close to me, and my heart suddenly skipped a beat, "Hey don't worry, y/n. You make my day everyday."
"Whatever," I felt my face heating up, biting down a smile as Kuroo let out another laugh, starting up his car and driving away from my house.
Kuroo kept his hand on my thigh the entire way to school, which was driving my absolutely crazy. I wanted him so bad, but I had to contain myself. Couldn't do that walk of shame into school. Besides, we would have been late, and I had to get there early to talk to Kenma.
I sighed out loud, which made Kuroo raise an eyebrow at me.
"How do I even begin to tell him?" I sighed again, and I didn't have to say his name for Kuroo to know who I was talking about.
"You got this," He nodded in encouragement, but I just smacked his arm. Useless.
We finally reach Nekoma, and Kuroo and I walk in together. We don't hold hands just yet, but I can tell he wants to, which gives me a sudden rush. I'd love to walk in with Kuroo and rub it in every girl's face.
Oh god, what has happened to me?
I head to my locker, Kuroo trailing behind me. I look around for Kenma, but I don't see him at first. Kuroo offers to walk me to class, but that's when we both notice Kenma in the corner, leaning against a wall near the class door. He definitely sees us together, and does a double take.
"Guess you'll tell him now after all," Kuroo whispers subtlely, "Want me to stay?"
"Thanks, but no thanks," I turn around and whisper back, "That'd just make things worse. I have to tell him myself."
