AMELIAS POV
I rolled over and shut my alarm off. God it was so early.
"Owen," I mumbled.
"What?" He complained. Owen was my best friend. He has been the one person who has always been there for me and I can always rely on since I moved out to Seattle after living in LA for a few years. Owen and I were super close.
"Get up or you're going to be late," Owen said, "again." He was of course referring to when I was late for work last week because I overslept. Owen and I didn't live together, but we spend a lot of time together. Sometimes he stays over and sometimes I stay at his house. I got up and walked into the bathroom and grabbed my toothbrush.
"Can I take a shower?" Owen said as he walked into the bathroom.
"If you pay me for the water bill," I joked.
"Shut up," he said and nudged me. He took his shirt off and I hit him with a towel.
"You're gross you could have waited until I was done in here," I said. He rolled his eyes at me as I left and went to go get dressed for the day. I checked my phone and I had a text from Maggie.
"Can I stop by this morning?" She sent.
"Sure," I replied. I finished getting ready and walked downstairs. I made Owen and I a cup of coffee and I heard the doorbell ring. I ran to go get it and saw Maggie.
"Hey what's up?" I asked.
"Winston's being annoying," she sighed.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I feel like we're moving too quickly and we're just at different parts of our lives," she said.
"I'm sorry," I frowned as we walked into the kitchen.
"Did you leave your water on? I can hear it," Maggie said.
"What? Oh no that's Owen he's taking a shower," I said and she gave me a funny look.
"What?" I said.
"Owen's here at 8 in the morning?" She said.
"He spent the night," I shrugged.
"Where?" She said.
"My bed," I said. She chuckled and I looked at her.
"What?" I chuckled.
"Amelia you haven't dated anyone since you've gotten here a few years ago. What about Owen?" She said.
"No that's gross," I said.
"Clearly some part of you likes him," she said.
"As my friend. My best friend," I said.
"Amelia you two spend so much time together. You're telling me you've never thought about it?" Maggie said.
"No kissing him would be like kissing Derek that's disgusting!" I laughed.
"Whatever you say," she rolled her eyes. Owen came into the kitchen a few minutes later.
"Ames you're gonna need more shampoo," Owen said, and then he saw Maggie, "oh hey Maggie."
"Owen you used all my shampoo last week," I complained.
"And you used all my conditioner call it even," he chuckled as he opened the fridge. Maggie gave me another look and I rolled my eyes. Owen and I were too close to date. I mean yeah we did everything together, but kissing him? Having sex with him? Owens practically my brother I mean it's weird. I can't say I haven't thought about it though. When we first became friends I thought about it a lot. I really had a crush on him in the beginning, but he was with Teddy, who then ran off to Germany.
"Amelia you're out of eggs," Owen said as he grabbed a box of cereal, "maybe you'd have some if you didn't burn breakfast the other day."
"If you're just gonna complain you can do the food shopping. Maggie do you want anything for breakfast?" I asked.
"I ate at Mer's I'm good," Maggie said.
"Anyway Winston," I said.
"I don't know, we're just not in the same place right now. I mean I'm head of cardio and doing all this research and I feel like he wants to settle down and go to medical conferences on the weekend as a get away," she sighed.
"Have you talked to him about it?" I asked as I poured milk into my coffee.
"No," she said.
"Maybe just tell him that you aren't totally ready to take a step back from your career yet, and hopefully he understands. If he truly loves you he'll understand," I said and she smiled.
"Thank you," she said. I cleaned up the kitchen and Owen walked into the other room, probably to start the car.
"Okay you have a weird dynamic going on here that I can't figure out, and I've suspected it forever, but Owen definitely likes you," Maggie said.
"Maggie stop," I chuckled.
"Amelia come on," she said.
"Maggie he's my best friend okay? He just happens to be a guy. I don't like him like that, he probably sees me as his younger annoying sister," I chuckled.
"Ugh fine," Maggie chuckled.

OWENS POV
"Hey," Amelia smiled as she ran to catch up with me at work.
"Hey," I said.
"Did Meredith talk to you about a dinner party?" Amelia asked.
"No," I said.
"Ugh well it's her and Derek, Maggie and Winston, Alex and Jo, and me. Can you pretty please come with me so I'm not alone?" She said.
"Ew no I'm not your date," I joked.
"Owen," she rolled her eyes, "I'm asking you to keep me company you idiot."
"I know, when is it?" I asked.
"Next week," she said.
"Sure," I said, "I'll be there."
"Thanks," she smiled, "anyway how's your day?"
"Good," I shrugged, "how's your day?"
"Annoying," she chuckled.
"Why?" I said as I opened the door to the cafeteria.
"Just is," she said. We grabbed lunch together and sat down at a table.
"What are you doing tonight?" I asked.
"I have to go grocery shopping," she chuckled.
"Ames that's so boring get a life," I joked.
"You're the one that ate all my food!" She laughed and threw a crumpled up napkin at me.

MAGGIES POV
"Do you think they're dating and just haven't told anyone?" I said.
"Who are we talking about?" Derek said.
"Your sister and Owen," Meredith said.
"Amelia can talk for hours and Owen just listens to her," Derek chuckled.
"Okay but I went over there this morning. Early. And he was there," I said.
"Oh my god do you think they had sex?" Meredith said.
"She's my sister we're not talking about sex," Derek said, "her and Owen are just close." Meredith and I looked over at them sitting at a table and they looked so happy.
"At least one of them has to like the other," I said.
