A/N : I edited this chapter as I've been informed Alex and Noah seemed to be going a bit fast. I always really appreciate feedback because I write for you guys and want to cater to your reading experience. Thanks to everyone who gives me help along the way 😌
Noah was currently walking into the holding cell area where Alex was. He wasn't currently assigned to any missions so he had been tasked with guarding Alex. As a professionally trained agent he had the skills to break out at any time so it was vital he was monitored at all times.
"Well don't you look nice in those jeans." Alex smiled at his flirtatiously, adding a wink for good measure.
"I can see why Opal likes you now." Noah laughed at his comment, clearly quite happy with the compliment.
"And I can see why Opal likes you."
"Are you flirting with me?" Noah was dumbfounded, most of the time flirting went completely unnoticed to him due to his crush on Opal.
"Does that intimate you?" Alex sassed, leaning his face against the bars of the cell so he was as close to Noah as possible.
"That's cute, you think you're intimidating."
"Why don't you come a little closer and I'll show you just how intimidating I can be."
"As tempting as that is I'm supposed to be watching you not flirting." Noah pointed out as he stepped back, attempting to create distance between them. He was fine with friendly harmless flirting but he didn't mean anything by it, he was still not over Opal just yet. They had been friends for years, his crush growing, whether that was more of a friend love he wasn't sure anymore.
"You can watch me all you like."
"Are you always this charming?" Noah joked.
"When I'm around hot people, yes." Alex smirked at his, eyes scanning him in appreciation.
"You think I'm hot?" Noah's voice faltered slightly, clearly surprised Alex would find him attractive. He wasn't used to the attention considering he never really put himself out there.
"Oh very."

After a long conversation with Alex, Noah's shift had ended, so he had come to see Opal before she left."Well don't you look hot." Noah complimented his friend. For the first time he didn't mean it as anything other than a friend. Although his heart still ached at the thought of moving on he was starting to open himself up to the idea. Alex had talked with him for a while, letting him know it was okay to still be confused over his feelings and that even if it took a while he would stick around.
"Thank you Noah." Opal smiled at him graciously, happy to have her friend back.
"So that Alex is nice."
"You met him?" Opal questioned as she fumbled about with buckles on her heels.
"Yeah I was on watch."
"So you like him then?"
"What? No? Of course I don't." Noah was spluttering out his words nervously. He had to admit that he enjoyed their time more than he should have but it was all still new and the wound Opal had caused was still fresh.
"You said he seemed nice."
"Oh you meant- never mind yeah I do like him."
"You thought I meant that like liked him like that?" Opal raised an eyebrow at him, confused about why he would assume that.
"Yeah my bad."
"Oh my god you do like him don't you?" Opal had finally caught on to why her friend was acting this way, he had a crush, no matter how small it was Opal was just happy he had even got close to getting over his crush. It broke her that she couldn't reciprocate the feelings but she could never think of him as anything other than a brother.
