Part 3

Y/N's P.O.V.

It had been a month since 'the incident' and Charles had left on a voyage, he was expected back in a few days. And that's when the letter arrived.

Dearest Y/N,

Hello Darling I must assume your letters have been lost in the mail and not that our only daughter has forgotten us. I am writing you to inform you of our intended visit. Your great grandmother has unfortunately passed so we will be setting sail in the morning to come visit you and deposit your inheritance. She was quite found of you and had left you a fair bit of he fortune. It should take us no more than 2 weeks to reach the Nassau port.

Sincerest,

Mr. & Mrs. L/N

I could practicly hear the cold tone in there voices. I had come into a family of wealth in England but I had never belonged there. My parents had always been trying to fit me into that perfect daughter mold and marry me off to a man in line to take over a family business. Now look who I was married to, I felt a small smile pull across my face. Charles and I had fallen into a nice rhythm before he left. The smile dropped when I noticed the date at the top of the letter. It was written 2 weeks ago.

Shit.

"I'll only be gone for a few weeks." He voice was low as we stood at the end of the dock. The Ranger was waiting to ferry him off into wide blue yonder. I swallowed averting my eyes. We hadn't kissed since the night we were wed and there was still a leval of uncertainty between us.

"I'll be here." I shifted under the weight of his gaze. When I looked back up at him he was smirking with and eyebrow raised.

"Fuck it." He sighed almost rolling his eyes as he reached out to cup my cheek pulling me in as his lips crashed over mine. I was taken aback for a moment before kissing him back. His lips were soft despight his rugged appearance.

"Stay gorgeous." He smirked a lurking lust in his eyes as he turned and began his way down the dock and up the ramp to the Ranger.

I didn't know when my parents would be arriving but it would be soon. I bustled around my small house sweeping the dirt out the door and organizing the shelves. I made up to the guest bedroom and hid all signs of Charles. I hadn't known my grandmother very well but my mother would probably have a heart attack on the spot if I told her who I married. I had just shoved one of Charles's jackets into the closet when I heard a knock on my door.

"Coming!" I called as I scurried to get to the door. I placed my hand on the door knob and took a deep breath. Here we go. It was probably my parents all ready to insult me for not greeting them at the docks.

"Hello- Elenor?" My brows furrowed as I came face to face with the blond woman. I hadn't seen her since the night she had been bickering with Charles.

"Yes. Well can I come in?" Her voice was pointed and proper manners dictated I allow her in. She stepped inside while I closed the door glancing down the street to see if any ships that could be housing my parents had come in.

"Can I get you a cup of tea?" I asked while gesturing for her to take a seet. She looked shocked by my eticut and I muffled a snicker. I may not like her but I was better than her and wouldn't treat someone with disrespect because of my opinions.
