I cried for the whole night after I gave Snow to Ezekiel. My chest turned in a very inexplainable manner and I don't know how to stop it. I hate the idea of giving up Snow just because she can't stay in the house but I also don't want my mom to think that I'm being disrespectful or let alone being a rebel just because of the argument we had after the party.

I took a deep breath as I looked at the picture I took of Snow. I haven't had the chance to visit her and it's been a week now because my parents wouldn't let me go outside. I thought visiting Snow would be a piece of cake but I thought wrong. I forgot that my parents are paranoid because of Dad's competitors and the countless death threats we receive everyday. It's like a part of our daily life to receive spam emails and even random letters about Dad's big projects- saying how he wrecked people's livelihood for his projects.

I know that not everyone would be pleased as to how my father acquired such big lands for every project but it was the reality. The people who lived there were either illegal settlers or they were offered a large sum of money to buy the land where they stay.

It was the bitter truth and I'm not proud of it but... I can't safely say that. I use my parents' money. It's me who's benefitting from all of their hard earned money.

The roaring sound of the engine interrupted my thoughts and saw elf trucks from afar carrying what I guess are logs for whatever my Dad is going to build again.

Maybe he already decided to build a barn? I don't know. I don't even know why he acquired such a big piece of land just to build a house.

My thoughts are getting weird nowadays. It seems like after I parted ways with Snow... none of these luxurious things around matter to me anymore. It doesn't fascinate me anymore the way I fascinate shiny and expensive things weeks ago.

What changed?

I decided to just get my phone and scroll to get over my boredom when I heard a barking sound somewhere.

"Great Eero... now you're starting to hear things just because of a dog." I mumbled as I continued browsing when I heard someone whistled.

My eyes diverted to where the sound came from and my eyes almost pop our of its case when I saw Ezekiel holding Snow in his arms!

"Snow!" I screamed that almost all of the people downstairs looked at my direction but I couldn't care less.

I zoomed out of the room and ran downstairs to meet Ezekiel and our dog.

Mom saw me and she was about to say something but my speed was too fast for her to even say anything. I pushed the door open and there I saw Ezekiel sitting on the grass once again while holding Snow.

"Snow!" I excitedly said and my dog recognized my voice right away. She got out of Ezekiel's arms as she ran towards me.

Her wagging tail and smiling face told me that she misses me too!

"Snow I missed you!" I happily said as I hugged her tight. I felt a pair of brown orbs observing me from a fair distance and I was right when I saw Ezekiel smiling while looking at me. "Thank you." that's all I can say.

The scene was like a father and daughter reunion. It was a ridiculous thing for me to think it that way but I'm just very happy that I got to see Snow once again.

"You didn't reach out to me for a week so I thought maybe you miss our dog." he casually said and I just nodded as I looked at Snow. "Your parents didn't let you go out again?"

"Yeah... you know how paranoid they can get when they receive death threats."

"Isn't it horrifying to live with death threats everyday?" Ezekiel curiously asked and I shrugged.
