Part 19: they care

Machigais pov.

It had been a few days...
And nothing much happened...
Kirenia mainly slept.
We took turns of being in control.
Kirenia was now fading away to a voice in the back of my head.
I was me again.
Well almost.
I got up and stretched.
I had slept for a full week.
I looked down at my body.
My skin was still burnt and bits of it would occasionally drift away in the wind like ash.
I looked at my hands and feet.
Still claws.
I sill had my skull aswell but my antlers had shrunk and I had gotten shorter.
My deer tail was still there.
I smiled to myself.
I was making progress.
I walked on all fours across the sand of the beach.
I sometimes built castles out of sand to leave for the children to discover.
I swam sometimes.
I lived off fish lately.
Today was a little different though.
A boy with green hair jogged up next to me in exercise clothes.
Midoriya.
That was his name.
"Hey Machi how are you today?"he asked me pleasantly.
I nodded my head to him.
"Do you remember me?" He asked again.
I nodded.
"That's fantastic, Tokoyamis been missing you lately, mr aizawa has been meaning to come visit you aswell, you've been gone for quite a while, we have all been going for our internships, I'm with Mirio and Sir Nighteye" he told me proudly.
I stopped and turned to face him.
I curled up and sat down ready to listen.
He sat in front of me, happy.
"Kirishima has gone with Fatgum and Tamaki, tokoyamis gone with hawks again..."
I cut him off by standing up.
He started to stand but I placed my huge hand on his head to indicate he stays there.
I ran off and found a dead tree.
I ripped it out with my antlers and walked back to midoriya.
I placed the tree in front of him.
He was speechless.
I crushed the tree up and dropped it so it was all in a pile.
Then I opened my mouth.
Fire came out.
It started a campfire.
I looked up at midoriya.
He smiled at me.
Then he shot up.
"I have an idea, I'll be right back"
He ran off.
I sat there staring into the fire.
Almost an hour later I saw a few people.
Midoriya.
Bakugo.
Jiro.
Shota
Shinsou
Tamaki
Kirishima.
And Tokoyami.
I sat up and my tail wagged.
Shota looked doubtful.
But I bounded over.
I nudged my skull against him to reassure him.
And he laughed.
I noticed kirishima, bakugo and midoriya were all carrying huge bags of marshmallows.
My small tail wagged faster.
"Aw look, she's excited" jiro squealed.
He all sat by the fire.
I was lying down on the sand.
Tokoyami was sitting next to my head holding two marshmallow sticks.
One was for me and one was for him.
Shinso and Tamaki were asleep, resting on my arms for pillows.
Midoriya was laughing at Kirishima as he stuffed his face with marshmallows.
"Do you think I can fit 15 marshmallows in my mouth?" He asked midoriya.
"Your a hazard to society" jiro replied.
"And a coward do 20" bakugo said from Kirishimas lap.
We all laughed.
I was happy that they cared.
I was happy that they were here.
I was happy to have a family.
I set my head next to Tokoyami and he leant back on my neck.
"Love you Machi" he said before falling asleep.
