Chapter Twelve

Shoto Todoroki P.O.V.

"I can't believe a hot guy like Todoroki is giving me the time of day." Midoriya was mumbling again, I couldn't help but snicker. But, he must've noticed that I did because he started blushing so I ran away before I made anything worse and caught up to Momo. I must have been blushing because Momo started in at me as soon as I caught up with her. "Sooooooo, how was the cutie?" she started giggling like a little school girl. "Shut up, it doesn't matter anyways." I mumbled the last part and rubbed the back of my head. She started giggling again "So it went well that's good." I was going to say something but was cut off by the test proctor.

Izuku Midoriya P.O.V.

"EVERYONE COME GATHER ROUND'." Present Mic was using his quirk, even though we all could hear him fine without his quirk. "There is only ten of us, there isn't really a point in using your quirk." We formed a semicircle around Shota and Present Mic, and Todoroki was on the other side of it. "Like I said before, we will not explain what the tests are before you take them. However, I will say that the first and last tests are relatively simple." I couldn't help but sigh in realize. Shota shot me a glare. "Just because they are simple to understand, does not mean that they will be easy. You are competing with the best of the applicants this year." It felt like his eyes were piercing into my soul as he talked.

"Anyways, I will now explain what this test is and what you will be doing. It is a race. It's as simple as who is the fastest running down a five-mile track. You all will be competing at once and the last two will be disqualified, and of course if anyone else is below the time limit we think you should be at, then you also will be disqualified. Any questions?" This time no one raised their hand, knowing that they will be ignored. "Good, then go line up at the starting line." We all lined up at the starting line. All of us looked nervous, except for Todoroki, who had his normal cold expression, a kid with a buzz cut who has been overly excited since he got here, and me. I had no reason to be nervous, I know that I have this won.

I have a small smile on my face as I get ready. "Sorry Shota, but I want to have a little fun with this for once." Present Mic started counting down. THREE. TWO. ONE. GOOOOOOOOO. I activated my quirk and I was at the finish line a second later. I couldn't help but smirk as I saw everyone else get knocked off their feet by my speed. But then I felt the effects after wards and I collapsed to one knee, panting heavily. "I can run faster than the eye can see, but only if I focus One for All only in my legs. So, I can't fight when I run this fast, and it takes about a one to two minute to catch my breath after doing it so my speed isn't really useful right now." But it was worth it when the Buzz cut kid and Todoroki faces dropped when they realized that they lost to a small shy kid.

Shoto Todoroki P.O.V.

THREE. TWO. ONE. GOOOOOOOO. When Present Mic said go, there was a sudden

pressure that knocked everyone off of their feet. "What the hell was that?" But I didn't have time to think about it, because a kid with a buzz cut immediately got up and started to go again. "Was it him? It doesn't matter I can't lose now." So, I pushed my ice as far as it could go and went back and forth with the wind kid through-out the entire race until the end where I saw Midoriya smirking and waiting for us. For whatever reason this just fueled my desire to win even more and I barely got second place. Once I crossed the finish line I collapsed gasping for air. "I haven't pushed myself like this for a long time." When I looked up I saw Erasure head pull Midoriya to the side. "What is going on?"

Izuku Midoriya P.O.V.

"Izuku! What are you thinking, we told you not to use your quirk to its fullest!" He sighed and pinched his nose "You're really becoming a problem child." "Look I'm sorry, but I can't risk losing."

Flash Back, a couple days before the entrance exam.

I was finishing up what I had to do at the league for the weekend before I went back to UA, when Shigaraki came in saying he needed to talk with me. "Izuku, you've done well these past few months. In fact, you climbed all the way to be my second. But, if you fail to be first at this entrance exam, there will be punishments. Is that clear?" He started scratching at his neck. "Is it really that big of a deal?" I sighed to myself. "Of course, whatever you say." He started to walk out "What will happen if I don't get first?" I know I shouldn't have asked him, but I needed to know. He started snickering, and that snicker turned into a malicious laugh that filled the room. "Let's just say.... I'm not as nice as you are. But, don't worry, master can always put you back together." There is not much that scares me anymore, but his words sent chills down my back. "Y-Yes sir." He just snickered and left the room. Once I knew I was alone I collapsed to the ground. "I cannot lose this."

Back to the present

Shota seemed to understand what I meant by this and nodded his head at me. "Fine, but you really should stop being petty like this. It's not very heroic of you." I forced myself to snicker knowing that they were listening through the wrist band. "Sorry I can't help it." "Well, I have to go announce the next test, might as well follow me." So, Shota and I walked over to the other applicants. He pointed out the two that are disqualified, and now there are eight applicants left.

"After a ten-minute break I will explain the next test." All the applicants just nodded their heads at him, mostly because most of them were still out of breath from the race. I couldn't help but laugh a little at how pathetic Todoroki and the buzz cut kid looked after that. "And they were so confident."

I started to go sit down against the fence that shows the end of UA's property when Todoroki came up to me. "How did you do that?" I snickered at him "Do what? All I did was run." He looked annoyed "Just what is your quirk." I put my finger up to my lips "That's a secret." He laughed "That's fine you'll probably just mumble it later." I blushed at him. "It's fine I totally didn't hear you call me hot earlier before I walked away." I just wanted to melt away right there, to not be alive, to have never existed. I couldn't even say anything.

"S-s-s-s-s-sorry about that." He snickered at me. "It's fine. In fact, if it makes you feel better, I think you're really cute." He rubbed the back of his head as he blushed a bit. I smiled "It does actually." He froze a minute and looked away, before turning back at me. It looked like he was going to ask me something, but was cut off by a black-haired girl calling his name. "I've got to go, but I'll talk to you later?" I nodded at him, and he walked away. I went and sat down by the fence.

"What the fuck just happened?"

A/N: First off, sorry for the lack of chapters during the week. That may or may not change I don't know, but I'll definitely update during the weekends. Secondly, I wasn't planning on "Silence" having a lot of time in this book, but I changed my mind and he will have at least a few more chapters centered around him because I love villain Deku and I can't wait to write a book about him.
