Zhou Zishu had never placed any high expectations for anything; not for exams, not for jobs, not for life, and certainly, not for love... He had trained himself to receive no disappointments, to harbor no fear, to stagger at no surprises. He had always settled for less because he never had the courage to seek what his heart wanted; or maybe the more correct way to put it would be that his heart never wanted anything or anyone before.

Until now. His heart wanted Wen Kexing, so he sought him.

But the moment he decided to give himself a chance at a different life, a different experience, it all came crashing down upon him. And that's why he never dared to have high expectations, because they always end in disappointments.

There was no window to look out from at Wen Kexing's mansion. He stood silently by the corner, showered with dirty looks from everyone present, except Wen Kexing who was unconscious. Every time he looked at him, his fist would clench and unclench, almost wanting to punch himself in the face for causing this mess. He blamed himself for wanting to test Wen Kexing, for him stabbing himself and for forcing him to drink his blood.

He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall, biting his lip nervously, tapping his foot impatiently. Everybody stood as far away from him as possible, like he was a ticking bomb, like he was a lethal weapon, like he was an enemy.

Because he was.

"What the fuck is even a vampire slayer ?!" He suddenly blurted, unable to bear the tension anymore.

"You." Qianqiao said.

"I don't even know anything about this! If I knew, I would have never given him my blood. " He argued.

"You should leave." Luo Yi said. "You're not welcome."

"I'm not leaving." He refused, "I caused this, how can I just leave?"

Zhou Zishu had no idea what had happened, after Wen Kexing hung up the call with A-Xiang earlier, he just suddenly fell unconscious. Zhou Zishu drove him back to his own house then contacted A-Xiang from Wen Kexing's phone; and now they were here, and Wen Kexing was still unconscious.

"Our master doesn't like to be pitied." Qianqiao said coldly.

"What do you even know?" Zhou Zishu was furious, stepping forward, Qianqiao shrank back in fear.

"Are you sure it wasn't you who stabbed him in the first place?" Luo Yi shot him an accusation.

"How can I stab him when he's that fast and strong?" Zhou Zishu reasoned. "He's a vampire!"

"You're a vampire slayer." Qianqiao repeated.

"I told you, I don't know anything about that!" He snapped, "the only people I slayed are in video games." He rolled his eyes. "I will not argue with you anymore, I'm not here for you, I'm here for him." He pointed at Wen Kexing.

"Stop the act." Qiaoqiao said, "we know you-"

"Can you all just shut up?!" Gu Xiang shouted from Wen Kexing's bedside. "I believe him." She said referring to Zhou Zishu.

"You're trusting a half vampire slayer human?" They all said in unison, their faces bearing a wave of shock and disbelief.

"So what if I am?" She shrugged, "The one who helped me uncover this is a human."

"I will not listen to this!" Luo Yi said before leaving the room, followed by Qianqiao.

"What do you mean?" Zhou Zishu asked. "Can you explain fast before I snap and slay someone?"

"You probably don't know any of this, but that night before you went to the hospital, Master brought you here first." She narrated, "He was worried about you so he fed you his blood and that's why you recovered quickly." She paused to make sure Zhou Zishu was listening.
