Chapter 18 || Movie Night

Small a/n: this will have spoilers for a certain movie mentioned later in the chapter, it's an older movie tho so there isn't really anything to worry about

Kurapika set a timer and we sat there as I fiddled with my camera.

"So, how is Leorio doing, I haven't seen him in a while," I asked making an awkward attempt at small talk

"Oh, he's doing good! He's just preparing for some extra tests so he's been really busy," He said yawning, "What about Gon, he's come in really late these past few days,"

"Yeah, Mr. Kite has had a few midnight classes lately," I said slouching against the tree

"Oh yeah, I remember when I had to do a few science classes with him in my first year," Kurapika said, "That was a mess, I was so tired,"

"You know, I've been wondering, do you have any classes," I asked

"Yeah, I do, I have them on Mondays and when I don't have manager duty," He said taking out his phone, "We're approaching 15 minutes,"

"I don't see any sign of him yet, looks like you're gonna have to give me ten dollars," I said jokingly

Just as I said that we heard footsteps running toward the little garden we were in, "Killua! I knew you were here!"

I saw a green flash then a sudden amount of weight as Gon flopped down onto me, his head landing on my chest.

"Hah, sucks to suck Killua you owe me ten dollars," Kurapika laughed

"Oh, hi Kurapika, I didn't even see you there,"

"Hi Gon, anyways Killua, I need to get going, I have a class in a few minutes," He said standing up

"Ok, bye, have fun," I waved and he left

"So, why'd you come looking for me this time?" I asked laughing a little

"Because I love you," He said sticking out his tongue a little

"I love you too," I said, "But actually, why did you,"

"I'm hungry and I don't know how to cook," He laughed, "Plus Neon stole our food,"

"That's right isn't it," I said, "Well, do you wanna go to the store,"

He nodded, "You're gonna have you get off me first,"

"I guess that's true,"

He got up and we started walking. We walked seemingly forever and then we finally made it to the grocery store.

Gon POV ('tis been a long time since a pov change)

I snuggled up against Killua while he drew, occasionally asking questions about what he was drawing. The only answer I would get was 'you'll see.' It had started raining just after we got back so the dorm was VERY cold.

"Killluuuuuaaaaaaaaaa," I whined, "Do you love meeeeeeeee?"

"Of course I do, why wouldn't I?" He asked setting down the notepad he was sketching in

"I dunno, I wasn't prepared for you to ask me that," I said

"Well then you should've been prepared," My white-haired boyfriend teased sticking out his tongue a bit

I responded by doing the same to which he giggled.

"Hey, do you wanna watch a movie?" Killua asked taking out his computer

"YES!" I blurted out making him laugh again

"Ok then, which movie," He asked pulling up a website

"What's that one," I pointed at the screen

"That's Bridge to Terabithia, it's by far one of my favorite movies," He said with a smile plastered on his face

"Let's watch it then!" I said excitedly

He clicked on the icon and the movie started playing, "I must warn you, it's kind of sad,"

"I can take it," He scoffed and turned off the lights as the very familiar Walt Disney Productions opening rang throughout the room and the movie started.

- Want toast?

- Yes.

Ellie, where's your cereal bowl?

- I'm not hungry.

- You need to eat.

- I'm not hungry, Mom.

- You need to eat before school.

The movie continued and we met the new kid, Leslie, "I like her, I like Leslie," I said as Killua put his arm around me, he smiled and mumbled something that I couldn't make out. I ignored it and the movie continued.

About two-thirds of the way in I heard Killua sniffle, it was probably just allergies. We were at the point where Ms. Edmunds was dropping Jess off after their trip.

(not the exact words used in the movie) 'Jess, something's happened,' Jess' mom spoke

'What happened mama was it something bad?'

'Jess your friend, she died,'

'Leslie?'

'Yes. Leslie,'

I couldn't wrap my head around those small set of lines and tears welled up in my eyes

Jess had run out of the house in disbelief and ran to the rope they used to cross the river. The river was higher than it was supposed to be, it reached the tip of the rope.

"Nononononononononono," I muttered, shaking my head. It was silent for a moment and I could hear the unsteadiness of Killua's breath almost in sync with my own.

Soon after, the movie ended and Killua shut the computer wiping a few tears from his cheeks. He sniffled then chuckled a little, "I told you it was a sad movie," He said turning the light's back on

I looked up at him, tears spilling uncontrollably out of the corners of my eyes, "You didn't tell me it would be that sad!" I whined wiping my nose on my sleeve

"Ok, gross, here," He said handing me a tissue

I took the piece of thin paper and blew my nose, crumpling it up after I was done. Killua took my face in his hands wiping my tears with his thumbs, "Was it really that bad?" He asked

"Yes," I said crossing my arms, "Why did Leslie have to die, I really liked her,"

"I dunno, why don't you ask the creator," He teased

"Mean,"

"Am I though?"

"Yes,"

"Oh, really? Would a mean person do this?" He placed a small kiss on my lips and smiled

"I guess not,"

A/N: ok but in all actuality, Bridge to Terabithia is a really good movie, you guys should watch it. Also, thank y'all sm for 5.5k reads, I was only expecting to get around 100 <3
