Passionate Hunger.

All I wanted was a taste
A small sampling of you.
The gentlest of touches
Against starving skin
Sparked a wildfire within me.

One taste, and I needed more.
Lips quiver in anticipation
Eager to pursue you further
And fuel my desire.

To resurrect my heart from dormancy
That locked it in place
Froze it in time

As growth springs forth
Surpassing the dead
I find my spirits are renewed
Blossoming into vibrant hues

They are colors I know
But have never seen
With such vigorous life.

I pray they never fade to gray.

As turning away
From a brilliant life
And your radiance
Would turn the day
Into an endless night.

With fingers interlocking
While caressed in my embrace
I cannot help but savor
The warmth you offer me

Every second
Every minute
Every hour
Every day that you are here

It reminds me
Of what it feels
To be alive

To feel vulnerable
To be truly human
To know myself
For my flaws and strengths

Knowing that no matter what
You will not hold it against me;

That I am accepted
I am beloved
I am wanted
By you.

With my heart
In your hands
I trust in you
I believe in you

And if you lift it up
And lean in gently

You will know
Just how much
Just how deeply
I have fallen
In love with you.
