Slowburn.

A mind in distress
Three clicks and a drag
His inexperienced lips fumble
while holding death by the teeth

Breathing was easy
Suffocation was not
Defiance against the involuntary
Left him gasping and wheezing

Thickness settled in his lungs
Pungent and oily
In protest, they convulsed
Expelling mortal smoke

In the last resort for peace
His desperation for relief
Overturns his hidden shame
Burning from the inside out
