"What the fuck did you do?"

Hours had passed since they'd landed in D.C, by now they'd already attended the welcoming dinner and were each in their respective rooms. It was almost 1 am now, but from his hotel Jasper could still hear police sirens and ambulances, courtesy of the ongoing rallies.

Jasper's siblings would get here tomorrow so the four of them could attend various press conferences and rallies in support of their Mom. Evidently, they'd arrived early as Lucas was standing in the middle of Jasper's room seething.

"I'm sure whatever it was, it made you upset." Jasper shrugged plainly, walking across the room to sit on his bed. "That means it worked.

Lucas' jaw hardened at Jasper's nonchalant attitude. The older brother was long accustomed to his carelessness and indifference, but seeing it in a situation like this only heightened his anger ten-fold.

"You're a fucking parasite, do you know that?" Lucas spat. "For so long, I thought I could defend you, but you truly don't care about anyone but yourself."

"You still haven't told me what I did, Lucas," Jasper noted impatiently and raised an eyebrow, taking notice of how Lucas' body language. He was livid.

"How did you know?"

"Know what?" Jasper tilted his head innocently.

"Goddamn it Jasper, about Bria!" Lucas yelled, his patience dwindling.

"Oh that." Jasper responded with a smirk. "Well I didn't know for sure, but judging by your reaction, now I do."

"You fucking threatened her?" Lucas asked incredulously, although he'd already known what his brother was capable of, and that is was true. "You threatened to tell Bryce."

Jasper shrugged plainly, "She should know what I could do to her if she jeapordizes mom's campaign. By the way she ran off I'm sure she didn't think fucking you was worth the trouble anymore."

"You don't even care about the campaign!" Lucas yelled in frustration. "Why do you care so much about who I sleep with?"

"You're right, I don't," Jasper deadpanned. "You know mom doesn't trust me, and yet you get to fuck Bryce's daughter without any consequences. What do you think she'd do if she found out it wasn't just a one night stand? Do you think she would keep you on a leash like she does with me?"

"So that's what this is about?" Lucas laughed incredulously. "About fucking leverage? Do you really want to hold this over my head that badly? Are you really that starved for control? For fucks sake Jasper, you're unbelievable."

"I don't care what you think of me, Lucas." Jasper shrugged and pushed his a few pieces of hair from his face. "I'm not going to tell mom."

If he'd stared into his brother's eyes he would see hurt, but all Lucas saw was indifference, carelessness.

Cruel.

"If you're not going to tell her then what the hell is the point?" He scoffed. "Do you know how many things I have let slide with you? You don't get to threaten my girlfriend and get away with it. She's terrified of you, is that what you wanted?"

"Oh, is she your girlfriend now?"

"Why does it matter?" Lucas exasperated. "She's important to me."

"It matters because of what you promised me," Jasper admitted. "Besides that, she's not good enough for you."

For a moment, Jasper saw Lucas's eyes soften and his body language shift, it was only for a moment, but the blond knew no matter how angry Lucas was now, it would subside with due time.
