WE FINALLY arrived home, at Ranshin. That was a total 4-days vacation (supposedly 3, but there was a tragedy amidst our expedition). Today is Saturday of August, and where the real war starts. Nakuha na rin namin kay Selhyna ang mga kagamitang kakailanganin namin para sa plano. She warned us not to sing her name once we meet failure.
Pagkatapos ng pag-uusap namin ni Emily, the traitor of QR, wala namang napansin ang mga kasama ko sa Adventure club na kakaiba sa 'kin - even Zen, the phantom detective. I've been observing them throughout our ride, but nothing was amiss. I can't help but to wonder who among us would be conspiring with this dangerous group.
Is it Zen? Why doesn't he want me to come close to Emily?
Or Sophie? Depending on her family's wealth, they could be a source to QR's financial for misdeeds. Same reason goes for Kentonni.
Or Skye? I don't have any reason to assume that he's conspiring with the QR but he's no exemption.
No, no. Hindi dapat ako nagsasalita nang tapos.
Damn, this enormous revelation has torn my trust for them. As much as I loathe it, I wanted to figure who the hell was this spy before he or she ruins our plan.
Emily told me that she hasn't mentioned about it to my brother. She doesn't want freak him out.
"I thought I already caught him . . ." bulong ni Sophie. "Akala ko lang pala. Syempre, nagkakamali rin si kuya Damien. I shouldn't let my hopes high."
Nasa loob kami ngayon ng bahay — I mean, mansion — ng Serrano. Within these walls of Kentonni's room, we were just talking about how do we click off the plan for later.
We took a break settling everything. I even lied to my brother and father that we'd gonna have a sleepover in his home along with the whole club. My brother, who's as excited as always for me to socialize, agreed immediately without detecting my lies. Whilst my father was reluctant at first but after explaining how difficult my life was before and now that it turned up today, he approved.
"Maybe . . . Zen isn't really the phantom detective." I looked at Sophie's phone over her shoulder to watch the news she'd been watching.
Buti nalang at nasa labas pa ang boys kaya malaya kaming makakapag-usap.
Amidst our vacation in Mt. Flare, Sophie took advantage of Zen's absence in Ranshin to confirm Inspector Damien Curren's theories. But to no avail, kasi nakapag-iwan pa rin ng cards at papel ang phantom detective sa crime scene habang nagbabakasyon kasama namin si Zen.
If Zen had an assistant who remained in Ranshin, does that mean na kasing talino niya rin ito para maresolba ang kaso?
"Sa buong bakasayon natin, wala naman talagang connection si Zen to the Ranshin e," Sophie insisted. "But . . . if it's not him, then who? Argh! Balik nanaman ako sa square one!"
Zen is the phantom detective. He confirmed to me himself. Kaya gusto ko ring malaman kung anong trick ang ginawa nila ng assistant niya. Sheesh, I also wanted to meet whoever his assistant is.
It's already 5 in the evening . . .
It's about time to click off our dangerous plan.
Nakasakay na kami sa isang limousine na nakaparada sa tapat ng isang eskinita papuntang casino.
"I repeat, we're risking a lot in this crazy plan," Kentonni started the conversation. "If you have hesitations, now's your final chance to back out."
"I'm going to do everything for my sister," Sophie responded with full conviction. Napatingin kaming lahat sa kanya at napatango.
"We're gonna find out the truth," Zen said whole looking at me, probably pertaining to me about my mother. "And try to bring justice to Ranshin's residents."
