The moment I thought I was going to die, somebody plunged into the water.

They quickly swam to catch up to me before I could lose more oxygen.

I could feel their gentle arms embracing me before they hurriedly swam their way to the surface.

When we broke out of the water, my rescuer gasped for air while still holding me close so I don't drown as we floated.

I coughed out a few droplets of water that managed to enter my body.

Slowly, I turned my head towards my rescuer.

My eyes widened slightly when I realized who it was.

"Nishiki...?"

Nishiki smiled in relief.

"Let's get you out of here."

Carefully, he got both of us out of the leftovers of the Dragon.

He gently set me down near the walls so that I could lean on them.

I rested my back on the wall while trying to control my breathing.

"Thank you..." I muttered.

"Rest up for a bit," Nishiki said, "Don't force yourself."

I nodded as he picked up his glasses from the floor.

Nishiki breathed out a sigh before crouching down in front of me.

"Hey," he said, "You'll be alright."

He carefully placed his hand on my cheek.

"Next time, try to notice the cracks on the floor before stepping on them okay?"

"Are you roasting me or are you giving me genuine advice?" I muttered while raising an eyebrow.

He chuckled.

"Both."

Not long after, Ayato ran his way towards us.

Nishiki removed his hand and stood up as Ayato stopped.

He confusingly looked at Nishiki.

"Did they send you here too?" Ayato asked.

Nishiki shook his head before wearing his glasses.

"I heard her conversation with Nagachika and followed her here," he said, "I guess it was a good thing that I did, huh?"

Ayato eyed Nishiki curiously.

Then, he turned his head towards me.

"Can you stand?"

"Y/N almost drowned," Nishiki raised his voice a bit, "At least let her rest for a moment. I'll keep an eye on her, and then we'll catch up to you later."

Slowly but surely, I got up from my seat.

The two worriedly set their eyes on me as I tried to stand.

Nishiki was about to help, but I shook my head.

"I'll go too," I said.

"You nearly drowned," Nishiki said with a frown.

"I promised Hide that I'll help Ayato bring Ken back," I argued, "I'm not breaking that promise. Besides, you're coming too right?"

Nishiki sighed in defeat.

"I'm not saving you a second time."

"Then I'll just have to count on Ayato for that, huh?" I teased.
