A mysterious figure jumped into the Dragon's leftovers as I felt my consciousness slipping away.

The figure moved closer and closer until they were finally able to reach out towards me.

They held a tight yet gentle grip on my body before swimming with all their might towards the surface.

Finally, we broke out into the surface.

I let out a gasp as the air began filling up my lungs. Not long after, I started to cough out the water that managed to slip into me.

"You're alright now," my rescuer said in a calm tone.

They brought us to the edge where Ayato is already waiting.

They hoisted me up as Ayato helped me climb out of the disgusting fluid.

Ayato carefully led me towards the wall. Finally, he helped me sit down as I leaned my back against the wall.

I took a deep calming breath while taking a good look at my rescuer.

"Thank you-"

My eyes widened as recognition dawned upon me.

"T-Take?!"

Hirako nodded.

His face remained neutral as it always had, but somehow I had a feeling that he's trying to hide his concern.

Hirako crouched down before putting a comforting hand on my shoulder.

"How are you feeling?"

I shrugged.

"A bit better, I suppose I should thank you-"

My sentence was cut short as a chorus of coughs escaped my mouth.

"Don't force yourself," Ayato said with a small smile, "I'll go look for Kaneki, you should stay here with-"

Ayato stayed quiet for a while as he stared at Hirako.

"Hirako Take," Hirako said.

'-with Arima 2," Ayato finished.

Hirako was about to protest when Ayato gave us a wave and left us.

"Sorry about Ayato," I said, "He likes to give nicknames, heck he even gave Ken two."

"I suppose Arima 2 is better than Dove Boy," Hirako commented.

"Wait, he called you Dove Boy?"

Hirako stayed silent to confirm it.

"How many times?" I said while holding back a chuckle.

"...three times."

I burst into laughter.

"I pity you, that's the worst nickname Ayato has ever given to anyone."

"Yes, well, let's not talk about that," Hirako said as he sat next to me.

I giggled a bit.

"Fine~"

I was about to let out a sigh when I suddenly sneezed.

"Ah, sorry about that," I said while bringing my knees closer to my chest.

Hirako sighed and took off his jacket.

I raised an eyebrow confusingly.

"What are you-"

But before I could finish, he gently draped his coat over me.

"It's a bit damp but, at least you won't catch a cold," Hirako said.
