Varian looked around the room, all he needed was something to be able to pick the lock with. He turned towards Andrew, "Hey, this might be a weird question... Do you happen to have a bobby pin?" Andrew's face lit up.

"You are in luck, my good sir." Andrew reached around towards the back of his head and pulled something out of his hair. He handed it to the boy, a grin on his face, "Do your thing, alchemy boy."

Varian was a bit confused as to why he had a bobby pin but brushed it off quickly, "I can unlock the door whenever, when do you need me to?"

Andrew seemed to think for a moment before turning and glancing out the window, "We have a few minutes till sunset, once the sky is dark then we will break out. As soon as you unlock that door and we knock out the guards we can head over and send my friends a signal they will come through the secret tunnel in the servants' quarters. Got it?" He asked, looking expectantly at the boy in front of him.

"Yeah, got it. Just tell me when." Varian sat down on his bed, resting his gloved hands next to him. He looked down and spotted the blue flower from (Y/N). He let out a silent sigh and picked up the flower, observing it closely. Whatever he was about to do would not gain (Y/N)'s approval. But that wouldn't matter after this, he could win back her parents, and even get revenge on Rapunzel, and after all that was over, he would be able to make Corona forget all about his... mishap.

Varian felt a wave of sadness wash over him, none of this felt right. All he wanted was... what did he want? He thought about it, he didn't really want anything specific, maybe for his inventions to be known about, but that seemed so trivial. All he really wanted was (Y/N). The only thing that would make him feel better was being with (Y/N), just like before. That night, the night of the Empyrean Showers, he had never felt such peace. Just laying by (Y/N)'s side, looking at the stars. Nothing else mattered.

It's too late for all of that, he told himself.

Whatever happens now will fix all of that, he told himself.

Andrew has a plan.

"Hey, kid. It's time." Andrew said, interrupting his thoughts. Varian's head shot up, looking at the man.

He nodded, "Rig- Right." He then walked over to the cell door, Varian broke the bobby pin in half and stuck the two pieces in the lock, he turned the two parts of the pin back and forth before hearing a click. He turned them once more, turning the mechanism and opening the door. He took a step back, "Ta-dah!" He smirked, gesturing to the door. Andrew looked at the boy impressed before walking out of the cell, motioning for him to follow and be silent.

Varian walked with Andrew, the two of them slowly making their way out of the dungeon and towards the servants' quarters. They encountered a few guards along the way but quickly knocked them out. Andrew and the boy rushed over to the closest balcony.

"Keep watch, alright? I'll send the signal to my friends." Andrew said, grabbing the boy's shoulder. Varian nodded.

Andrew stepped out on the balcony. Varian missed how he signaled but he knew it involved a mirror as he saw Andrew pull one from his pocket, either that or he was checking his hair. Andrew stepped back inside, looking around quickly before motioning again for Varian to follow him. They finally made it to the servants' quarters and peeked inside before entering, making sure that no one was around. The two made their way over to the secret tunnel at the other side of the room. They stepped inside, before covering it with the tapestry that was over the top, hiding out in here just in case someone noticed they were missing or walked into the servants' quarters.

After an hour some footsteps echoed across the walls of the tunnel, Andrew and Varian turned and spotted a few people walking their way. They stood up, "Unfortunately, we don't have time for introductions. We will do that after we erase the memories of the King and Queen." He said, "Clementine, do you have the wand?"
