You walked past the royal pavilion seeing your parents and Rapunzel sitting there. You ran up to them, leaning over the rail. You noticed Rapunzel looking through her journal with your dad and mom, he was now pointing out when these pictures happened, you were happy they were completely gaining their memory back.

"Hey, I'm going out. I'll see you guys later!" You said, your dad put a hand up to stop you.

He stood up from his chair, walking over to you, "Rapunzel will be gone for a few days... so please be careful alright? Oh, also where are you going?" He asked.

"To- uh, to hang out with Varian." You said, your face turning slightly red. Your parents shared a knowing look and your mom started to snicker, "But, uh- don't worry!" You patted your thigh, where you strapped on the knife that Cassandra gave you, "I have a weapon... just in case something happens on the way there, y'know?" Your father nodded, sitting back down.

Before you left you ran over to Rapunzel, giving her a quick hug, "I'll be back soon, (Y/N)" She leaned back, her hands resting on your shoulders, "I'm only going to find the Captain of the Guard. Oh! And don't put too much strain on that arm of yours!"

"I won't!" You laughed, pulling away from her, "Good luck, Rapunzel. And stay safe!" You said before turning around and walking back towards the palace square.

You walked out of the palace gates and down towards the center of town. Of course, Varian didn't know you were coming, he never did. You just kind of would always show up unannounced. You walked past some guards that were guarding the bridge and sent them a wave, you crossed the bridge and walked past the Snuggly Duckling. You noticed Vlad sitting outside. He sent you a wave and you repeated his action before continuing on your way. Walking all this way suddenly made you realize how small Corona was, and yet there was still a whole mountain inside of its walls.

You stood at the base of the mountain and found the cave that would lead down to the Demanitus Chamber, you made your way through the caves, trying to pass all the traps without setting any off. Of course, you set some off but most were arrow traps, or things easily escapable. You were surprised that there were any traps left to set off. Quickly, you made your way to the Chamber, you looked down the large flight of stairs and spotted Varian hunched over at his desk. You quietly made your way down the stairs, trying not to startle the boy. You walked up to him, leaning over his shoulder.

Varian was scribbling furiously, writing down words and characters that you didn't understand, you glanced up at the wall next to his desk and spotted a character chart of what seemed to be a different language. You stepped away from behind him and looked up at the chart, lightly placing your hands on some of the words to make them out. There were some English words next to drawings that had been scribbled on the wall by the boy, you spotted a drawing of the sun, a flower, the moon, and what looked like the black rocks. Next to one side was the first incantation, the one that you use to heal people. You glanced back over at Varian, wondering how he hadn't noticed you yet. You stepped over to the end of the table he was at and sat down on it, swinging your legs back and forth. You didn't want to interrupt him but he seemed too lost in thought to even notice that you were there.

Scribbling one final letter down he leaned back, "Done!" He let out a breath of relief, you turned to look at him.

"Done with what?" You asked.

Varian jumped back, shocked, "OH! (Y/N)! Hi, whe-when did you get there?" He asked, slightly relieved that it was only you.

You looked over at him, crossing your legs, "Not too long ago. Like just a couple minutes ago." Leaning over on one arm, you looked down at the paper that was in front of him. You hopped off the table leaning over his shoulder, "Oh, you've been translating the Demanitus Scroll?" You asked, not noticing how nervous Varian was because of your closeness.
