Chapter 26- Not the time for Jokes

Herman was on a plane to France to try and win back Angie. He was really nervous.

……..Meanwhile in France……..

Angie was back at Grace’s apartment. It was late and Angie decided to go to sleep.

Angie “I’m gonna call it a night”.

Grace “Okay goodnight Angie”.

Angie “Night Grace and thanks for letting me stay with you”.

Grace “What are friends for”.  She pulled Angie into a hug.

Angie then went to her room. Meanwhile Herman had arrived in France. He had no address for Angie. He only knew the name of her friend. He checked himself into a hotel for the night. He was going to search for Angie tomorrow.

……………..The next Day…………..

It was a new day and Angie and Grace had gone out for breakfast. Herman started his hunt for Angie. He tried all the hotels, shops ect.  The last thing on his list was to try the cafes.

Meanwhile at the café Angie and Grace were having a good old giggle about school.

Grace “Do you remember Chris he went out with me because he couldn’t have you”.

Angie “What really?”.

Grace “Yes. Remember you were dating Matt”.

Angie “Oh yeah. Did you know Matt was cheating on me?”.

Grace “What who with?”.

Angie “Chris!”. 

Grace “Oh my God really! ?”.

Angie “Yeah I found out and he said he was experimenting”.

Grace “Oh no. That’s hilarious”.  Angie and Grace broke out into heaps of laughter. They were interrupted by a tall dark shadow. It was Herman.

Herman “Angie!”.  He was trying to catch his breath.

Angie “Herman what are you doing here?”.

Herman “I came to bring you home”  Grace then interrupted.

Grace “So this is the famous Herman”. She looked him up and down.

Herman “You must be Grace”.

Grace “I am and you must be the idiot who doesn’t trust my friend”.

Herman “Sadly yes but I’m an idiot who is madly in love with you Angie”.

Grace “Hummmm. I don’t buy it”.  Angie then interrupted.

Angie “Grace I can take it from here”. Grace nodded and left to get a muffin from inside.

Angie “What do you want Herman?”.

Herman “I want you to come back to Argentina with me”.

Angie “And why would I do that?”.

Herman “Because I love you and I want you to be my wife”.

Angie “Well you didn’t think I did and you called off the engagement”.

Herman “I was a fool. I know you didn’t kiss Pablo. He told me he kissed you and he was also working with Jade to get us to separate”.

Angie “I can’t believe it. Pablo must have been forced into it. He wouldn’t do that to me”.

Herman “He would do anything to have you. Anyone would. I would”.  He sat next to Angie.

Angie “Well it’s too late”.

Herman “It’s never too late”.

Angie “You can go now Herman”.

Herman “I’m not leaving without you”.

Angie “I’m not coming back”.

Herman “Can we have dinner tonight. Talk properly?”.

Angie “Only if it will get you off my back”.

Herman “Great and I’m not on your back. I’d be too heavy for you. I would have you on my back”.  He smirked.

Angie raised her eyebrow.

Herman “To soon for jokes?”.

Angie “What do you think?”.

Herman “Yeah too soon”.

Angie “Here’s mine and Graces address”.

Herman “What?”.

Angie “Grace is coming with us. Just in case I need witnesses”.

Herman “Okay but at one point I will need to talk to you alone”.
