It was the night for the ball.Y/n was in her manor and was getting ready.She chose a beautiful light blue gown that was simple yet sleek.It was a strapped dress which had a tight waist and was puffy in the bottom.Her curves looked perfect on it.Her hair was down and she wore expensive earrings.She got in her car and drove to the ball.
The ballroom was adorned with flowers and candles.People were all enjoying each others company and were dancing in the middle of the room.Champagne and whiskey glasses were served all around.Y/n got out of the car and the doors opened for her.She got in the ballroom to see people's eyes on her.They felt like a goddess just entered the room.Y/n recognised John Shelby standing in the corner leaning on the wallwith a toothpick in his mouth.He saw y/n walking towards him and he immediately pushed himself from the wall and kissed her hand
"You look beautiful miss y/n"he said
Y/n gave him a gorgeous smile and bowed like a princess.
"It's just y/n"she said smiling
John was dressed in a tux and looked extremely handsome.
"My my you look beautiful y/n"ada said walking over to her
"Please have you looked at yourself you look breathtaking gorgeous really"y/n said looking at her dress
She laughed and grabbed her arm.Y/n was surprised as how quickly she pulled her and was taking her up the stairs to a special sitting area for the shelbys.John followed them upstairs too slightly smirking.
Y/n got up to see Arthur Shelby and Tommy standing there in the balcony and talking to each other.
"Look whose here"ada said with excitement as she wanted to see her brothers reactions
They both looked behind together.They were stunned at least arthur was.He stood there still but then walked over to y/n
"You look breathtaking"he said still in shock while kissing her hand
Y/n gave him a smile and looked over at Tommy who had a weird look on his face.Y/n couldn't figure out what is was?
"Beautiful i knew you would look good in a dress"he said with a smirk
"Oh I never expected those words to come out of Tommy shelbies mouth"y/n said holding her chest
Tommy smiled a little and everyone laughed.
Y/n noticed a woman standing in the corner of the area.She walked over to Tommy and entangled her arm in his.Y/n felt a weird feeling in her.She just felt weird like someone had taken away something important from a person.But she knew she wasn't in love with Tommy so she didn't care about it.
"Tommy whose this beautiful lady?"she asked smiling innocently
Tommy looked at Grace "Ya this is y/n"he said
"Nice to meet you"y/n said shaking her hand
She simply shook her hand and they exchanged smiles
They sat on their seats for a while and asked y/n many questions.They all talked together until the loud music stopped to start a slow music.John stood up and brought his hand towards y/n offering her a dance.She happily took his hand and stood.She walked downstairs where John took her.Everyone smiled at them all except Tommy.A weird burning feeling was raging inside him.Was he jealous?He had no idea.He gave grace his hand and she smiled at him and they both went to dance too.John and y/n's hands entangled and she put his hand on his shoulder while he brought his hand up her slim waist and pulled her close.Her face flushed and she smiled at him.They slowly swayed and danced with the music.Tommy looked at them with eyes that could kill.He grabbed grace and danced with her.He slowly moved with her and she smiled at him.Y/n looked over to see them dancing.She felt a burn in her whole body but hid it with a smile.He noticed she wasn't that happy as she pretended.He smirked and danced to the music.
"You look beautiful"John said with a smile
She smirked and said"I know"causing a chuckle to come out of his mouth.The song soon ended and it was pretty late.They got back upstairs on the open seating area.Y/n walked away and stood on the corner.She simply looked at the people leaving and took a heavy breath.
"Enjoyed the dance?"A familiar voice said from behind
She noticed who the person was so she didn't turn."ya it was good"she said with a smile
There was a silence for a few minutes and he stood beside her leaning against the rail with his face facing her.
"So a barmaid eh?"y/n said with a smirk
"She sure is beautiful"y/n said
Tommy just looked at her and shrugged his shoulders
"Ya she is"he said sighing
They said nothing for a while and just looked at the people leaving and the music ending.The silence wasn't awkward it was comfortable.They used to feel warmth around eachother.Y/n used to feel safe for some reason.
"You look beautiful"he said looking at her up and down
"Ya many people said that today"y/n said sighing deeply
The silence took over again.The both said nothing but just enjoyed the moment.It was peaceful.Comfortable.
"Can I ask you for something like a favour?"y/n said innocently
Tommy simply nodded
"I want to invite you and your family to dinner"y/n said with a smile hoping he would allow it
"Sure"he said keeping his cool
"Great"y/n said smiling
"I should leave now it's getting late"y/n said walking away But he grabbed her hand and pulled her back.She looked at him in confusion as to why he did that.Her heart was beating heavily as he pulled her close to him.Goosebumps ran down her spine.Tommy took a deep breath and the same jasmine smell surrounded him.He pulled her close
"I mean it y/n you look beautiful"he said in his deep husky voice
Her heart skipped.Goosebumps ran through her veins.Fireworks lit up in her body.
She felt her cheeks getting Warm and she knew if she would stay close to him for another second she would lose all control.He noticed surprised she looked so he loosened his grip.She smiled shyly and walked away.Tommy smiled to himself as to how he made her feel as to how her shy smile made warmth flow through his blood.He didn't know that he liked her because he was sure he was falling for grace but no matter how much he thinks he is in love there will always be some voice telling him it's not right.But the problem is he hasn't heard it now
