FOUR

When the moon was shining at its highest peak, Ruby was shaken awake. Her locs were tangled and a line of fresh drool was visible on her chin.

"Who the hell woke me up and it better be important," Ruby groans without opening her eyes.

"It's Evie, we need your help. We found the wand" a soft voice replies. Ruby opens one eye and sees the blue hair VK princess.

"I am not helping you guys steal the wand. Now leave my room like it is on fire"

Evie sighs knowing Mal will be unhappy and leaves the room. Ruby checks the time on the alarm clock and sees that it is 2 in the morning.

Knowing that she won't be getting any more sleep, she gets up and goes into the bathroom. She grabs a washcloth and brushes her teeth and washes her face. She also puts her hair in a messy bun on the top of her head. She turns off the light and exits the bathroom and sighs at the overwhelming size of her room. 15 children from the isle can live in this room and still have room to be comfortable. 

The thought of the Isle and the children on it made Ruby's heart ache. She left her mom and her friends back on the Isle. Determination flooded through her veins as she stares at the journal sitting on top of her bag. She walks towards it with heavy footsteps and grabs it by its spine. 

Ruby sits on her bed with her back in contact with the headboard and flips open the book. She immediately recognizes her mother's elegant handwriting that makes her own look like chicken scratches. Ruby begins to read. Her eyes scan the pages as her finger tip turns blue from the ink. She reads and she learns. 

She learns about the history of Wonderland and her mother's tragic story. She learns about how the royals of Wonderland and Auradon were supposed to be lead side by side. It was a compromise between King Beast and the White Queen as the Queen helped with the magical barrier. The White Queen pleaded with the King to let her sister live in Wonderland where she belonged but once the King got what he wanted, he no longer cared about the compromise. All of the Wonderland citizens were sent back to Wonderland in shackles only able to leave their upside down world to go to the Isle of the Lost. 

Ruby read and learned. She read the filled pages full of names of the descendants of what Auradon considered 'villains'. Tears fell from Ruby's eyes as she read over the names of her friends.

Harry - Son of Captain Hook 

She vowed to get her friends and family of the island. She promised that they would feel the sun's warm rays of light and taste the sweet taste of chocolate just as she had the chance of doing.
