As blood pooled onto the ground Bailey slowly transformed back to her human form. "Rin!" Sesshomaru yelled. Bailey let go of Kirinmaru's head which she had ripped from his body. As his head rolled on the courtyard floor the last thing Kirinmaru saw was Bailey catching Rin as she fell to the floor with Kirinmaru's arm through her chest. Tears streamed down Bailey's face as she looked down at Rin. "Hold on Rin. Ok." Bailey said ripping Kirinmaru's arm out of Rin's chest and biting into her wrist and pouring the blood into Rin's mouth. Rin laid limp in Bailey's arms. "No! Rin! Wake up!" Bailey said shaking her body but Rin laid still. "Dont you dare leave me Rin!" Bailey cried into Rin's hair. "Bailey." Sesshomaru said with tears in his eyes. "No!" Bailey shouted. "She cant be gone. Not after everything I've done for her." Bailey yelled. Bailey held Rin close until realization set in. Bailey cried picking Rin up and carrying her. As Sesshomaru and Bailey neared the village Bailey stopped. "I just want to have a moment with her." Bailey said holding Rin tightly to her. Sesshomaru nodded "I will explain what happened to everyone" Sesshomaru said and continued to the village. Bailey didnt look at him she just kept her eyes on Rin's pale face. Brushing the hair out of her face Bailey slowly cleaned the blood and dirt from Rin's face. "I didnt want this. I just wanted you to be happy even if it meant leaving so you could be comfortable with him." Bailey whispered to Rin. Tears fell from Bailey's face onto Rin's. "If I could trade places with you I would in an instant. I love you so much. Like you were my own daughter. But now I have to let you go." Bailey said and kissed Rin's forehead. Bailey shuddered at the coldness of Rin's skin. "I will protect Towa and Setsuna. Even if it kills me. I promise Rin. I promise." Bailey said getting to her feet. Carrying Rin into the village she watched as everyone stepped out of her way. "Mother!" Towa and Setsuna said running from Kaede's hut. Bailey swallowed thickly as she faced them. Tears brimmed their eyes seeing Rin's limp body in Bailey's arms. "I tried to save her." Bailey said to them sadly. Bailey let her sight drop back to Rin and continued to the graveyard. Sesshomaru had already dug a hole for Rin and laid out a white cloth. Bailey slowly laid down Rin onto the while cloth and carefully wrapped her in it. The village people gathered to say goodbye to Rin and pay their respects to her daughters and Sesshomaru. Setsuna played a sweet melody with her violin while the village women sang a farewell song to Rin.

Tears streamed down everyone's faces as the women finished their song. Bailey stood there with a tear stained face. She watched as Sesshomaru give Rin one last kiss and laid her down in the grave. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru slowly covered her with dirt. Once Rin's body was completely covered Bailey's head dropped and her line of sight didnt move from the grave. As everyone headed back to their huts Bailey sat in front of Rin's grave. Suddenly Bailey sprang to her feet running as fast as she could. Entering the tree of ages she looked around. "I know you're here!" Bailey yelled her voice cracked from the frustration and the fact she had been crying since loosing Rin. "Bailey. You have completed your task I see." The tree of ages said. The voice came from all around her. "I did but I lost someone important to me." Bailey said looking all around. "So you've come to ask me to bring her back?" Bailey nodded furiously. "Yes. I beg you please bring her back." Bailey begged the tree of ages. "Bailey. Unlike you. Rin was mortal. She has already been retrieved from the underworld twice." Bailey frowned furrowing her brow. "I dont give a shit how you do it just do it!" Bailey said through gritted teeth. "Let her trade places with me!" Bailey pleaded. "It doesn't work that way. She is gone. There is nothing that can bring her back now. It's time to grieve Bailey. She's gone." Bailey seethed with anger. Exiting the tree she headed back to the village. Bailey returned to Rin's grave and sat in the exact spot she was in before she left for the tree of ages. "Nothing can bring you back." Bailey whispered. Her tears fell to the ground as she cried sorrowful. "Bailey." Sesshomaru's voice was soft. "Sesshomaru. I miss her." Bailey said with her eyes closed. Sesshomaru put his hand on Bailey's shoulder. "Rin knows. She knew you loved her." He said softly. Bailey stood to her feet. "If only I had moved quicker maybe..." Bailey started to say but was stopped when Sesshomaru's hand cupped her face. "You did what you could and so did I." Sesshomaru said pulling Bailey into a hug. Sesshomaru quickly pulled away. Turning he gathered a few flowers then he placed them on Rin's grave. "For three months we will visit Rin's grave and place fresh flowers every week." Bailey stepped back confused. "We?" Sesshomaru looked at her. "Yes. We. Myself, you, Jaken, Towa and Setsuna will do this. It is the mourning ritual for the family of the departed to do." Sesshomaru explained. "Jaken, Rin and I did it for you all those years ago." He said sadly. "Family?" Bailey said sadly. She nodded swallowing thickly. "I'm going to be here a while longer. You should be with your daughters." Bailey said. Sesshomaru nodded and walked away. Bailey sat back in her spot. It was as if she couldn't leave. Her heart hurt too much to even think of leaving this spot.
As Sesshomaru entered the hut everyone looked at him with sorrowful eyes. "Is she still out there?" Kagome asked. Sesshomaru nodded and walked over to his daughters who were sound asleep. Pulling a blanket over them he then walked to the window and sat by it. "Once the mourning period is over we will go home and take our places in the western lands." Sesshomaru said looking out the window up into the night sky.
