Y/n's POV
My phone ringing on my bedside table woke me up from my sleep. The blaring noise made my head start to pound, which only made me feel worse than I previously had. I groaned and reached over to grab my phone, and once I brought it closer to me, I clicked answer and held the phone up to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Y/n, it's Penelope," Penelope chirped from the other side of the call. I winced at how loud her voice was, sending another wave of pain through my brain.
"Hey, Pen," I greet softly. "What's up?"
"We've got a case, and all of us are at the mall in Potomac Mills. When I didn't see you here, I asked Hotch where you were, and he told me you weren't coming," Penelope spoke.
"Cause I'm not," I reply, my voice barely above a whisper. "I had to take a sick day."
"You're not dying, are you?" Penelope questioned. "Cause I can't lose a best friend at my age."
I chuckled weakly. "While I'm not actually dying, I do feel terrible. My throat is sore, it feels like someone pounded my head in with a hammer, and my nose is very congested."
"You poor thing," Penelope said. "I'll tell you what. This case is a quick one day one, so once we get back to D.C., I will swing by your place with some soup and other things."
"You truly are the best, Penelope Garcia," I comment.
"I know," Penelope admitted. "Now, get some more rest. I won't be by until later."
"Okay. Bye, Pen," I murmur and hang up the phone. I wished I could get back to bed, but with how bad I felt, it just wasn't happening. So, I moved to my couch, bringing a ton of blankets with me, and plopped down, surrounding myself with warmth. For a few hours, I managed to drift in and out of sleep, and towards the end of the day, I had the TV playing whatever re-runs were on. At around 8 o'clock, there was a light knock on my front door, and I opened it to reveal Penelope.
"Oh man. You really are sick," Penelope exclaimed as she glanced me up and down. I was just wearing a pair of sweatpants and a tank top, but I'm guessing she wasn't talking about my clothes. "And I brought chicken noodle soup, just like I promised."
"I've been looking forward to this all day," I confess and take a seat at my kitchen's island. "Thanks for doing this."
"It's no problem," Penelope told me as she placed the hot container of soup in front of me. "Ooh. You want to here about today's case?"
"Please," I beg her. "Today has been the most boring day of my life."
"Okay, so we went up to this mall because a little girl was kidnapped," Penelope started.
