"Alex, mom wants to talk to you!" Scott called from the top of the staircase, Corinne watched as Alex gave him a certain look and looked back at her. He patted her shoulder lightly before pulling away and walking upstairs towards Scott. It's been weeks since she's came here, weeks with just her and Alex's family. Corinne enjoyed it, having a family was fun. Corinne sighed and felt her heart racing, she sat on the ground and heard someone walking down the stairs. "Your name, it's Corinne isn't it?" Scott said before sitting next to her.

Corinne stared at Scott confused and nodded, "Yeah," she said before looking away, she looked at her hands and slowly brought the cup of coffee from earlier to her hands. Scott stared at her in awe, "How old are you exactly?" she asked curiously, Scott blinked and looked at his fingers counting before looking back at Corinne. "I'm ten," he answered. Corinne nodded and looked away before frowning.

"You know Alex pretty well don't you?" she asked curiously, Scott nodded and tilted his head confused. He sighed, "He's kind of adulty, mom says he's like my dad but he isn't," Scott muttered. "My real dad died in a car accident," he said sadly. "Mom says Alex is always angry because of that," Scott then blinked and frowned. "Have you got a dad?" he asked. Corinne frowned and stared at him softly.

She shook her head, "No, my dad died when I was six," she said slowly. "My mom and my siblings are also gone," she muttered. Scott held onto her arm and frowned before sighing, he then looked at the coffee before taking the cup and placing it on the ground. "Do you not have a family then?" Scott asked curiously. Corinne froze for a second and held her breath before looking back at Scott, she shook her head again.

"I do have a family, you know Alex? He's like family to me, and we have all these other friends who are also family. There's Charles, Hank, and Raven," she paused and quickly smiled. "They're my family now," she muttered. Scott nodded and quickly grabbed the cup of coffee before standing up. "Well, I'll ask mom if you can be apart of our family," he said with a grin, "Do you want to be in our family?" he asked.

Corinne laughed and stood up before following him into the kitchen, "One day, maybe," she said. If we ever decide to get married. She thought before washing the coffee cup, "What?" she heard Alex say from behind her. Corinne turned around, "I didn't say anything," she muttered confused. Alex frowned then nodded before looking at Scott who was smirking, "Oh, I don't know, I just thought I heard you say something," Alex said.

"Oh," Corinne frowned before placing the cup on a drying rack, "No, I was just answering Scott's question," she said before looking at Alex, "Did I say anything?" she then asked confused. Alex stared at her for awhile before shaking his head, "No," he said before looking away. Corinne blinked confused, Alex then looked back at her. "I mean, yes?" he offered confused. She frowned and bit her lip curiously, "What did I say?" she asked.

Alex then looked at Scott who was walking away, he then looked back at Corinne, "If we ever decide to get married," he answered before looking at the ground. Corinne blinked and held her breath in fear, she said that out loud? "Oh," she muttered, "Oh, forget that, I just- I was just saying if we did I'd be part of your family," she then looked away awkwardly. She then noticed Alex was staring at her, she looked back at him and smiled weakly.

"It's fine, I mean it's not like I've never thought about it either," Alex said before heading towards the fridge. Corinne felt her heart racing, so he's thought about it? She couldn't help but smile, he then looked back at her. "We've been dating for what? 10 years?" he asked curiously. Corinne nodded and he grinned before tossing her an apple. "Half of the time you were fighting in a war Alex, I'd hardly call it dating," she muttered as she caught the apple.

He laughed and Corinne sat down at the dining table, he sat across from her. "It was for a good reason and you- you were with Charles," he said. Alex then sighed before staring at Corinne, his eyes gleaming with comfort, "I missed you," he whispered. Corinne couldn't help but laugh before she grabbed a plate from a drawer with her telekinesis and started to cut the apple. "I missed you too, you know- I would've came back earlier if I didn't decide to do some tests with Hank," she muttered before handing him a slice of the apple.

Alex stared at her curiously, "What kind of test did you do?" he asked confused, Corinne blinked. They were mostly brain scans, measuring the amount of emotions she had during her nightmares and mostly blood tests. "It was just for my nightmares," she muttered, "Nothing too bad, it just left me there for awhile," Alex placed the slice of apple he was holding on the table and stared at her worriedly.

"You're still having nightmares?" he asked concerned, "I thought you had them because of..." Alex trailed off. Corinne frowned as his eyes flashed with trouble, she sighed before smiling again, "Don't worry about it Alex, I don't have them anymore," she said but he still looked a little worried about it. He nodded and quickly ate the slice of apple silently, Corinne watched him and he stared at her confused. "What?" he asked.

Corinne smiled, "Nothing, it's just been awhile since it's only been us two alone," she whispered softly. Alex nodded and slowly stood up before sitting right next to her, "It has been awhile," he agreed. "It's also been awhile since we-" Corinne covered his mouth and stared at him in shock, she rolled her eyes and poked his cheek teasingly. "Oh you," she muttered. Alex gave her a certain look and she laughed, "I love you," she said.
