-Are you going to be mad at me for much longer?-Randall asked as he gave her his arm to walk her down the aisle.

Hayleen took a deep breath trying to calm herself and knowing that arguing with her father would be of no use. It was definitely not the time to have that conversation and she didn't understand if he was doing it because he was a coward who knew she wasn't going to be able to answer him at that moment or, most likely, because he didn't have enough emotional intelligence to notice that was a conversation that should have happened earlier.

Lyn had been living in the same place as him for over a week but it seemed like it was too much work for her father to try to fix things with her; he was always right and the one who was supposed to apologize was her, which was never going to happen. It really didn't surprise her that he was trying to manipulate her into making her feel guilty about the problems between them right then; her father seemed to have an uncanny ability to put her in a bad mood and try to argue in the wrong situations.

- It is not the place nor the moment to speak of this. I don't want to argue with you on my wedding day, can we please ignore it for a few hours?

Although Randall seemed upset about not getting what he wanted, nodded and was put on his usual mask; again the perfect father was ready to fulfill his role.

Suddenly the doors opened as a sign that it was time to enter. Hayleen took a nervous breath and squeezed her father's arm tightly; it didn't matter the problems between them, just as she loved him and was secretly relieved to have him supporting her.

-You are gorgeous and he is your soul mate. Everything is going to be fine -he tried to reassure her without much success-. Ready?

Lyn wasn't ready for anything. Her body seemed to have activated the escape mode and it was with great effort that she managed to contain herself and nod in response. Randall moved forward and she had no choice but to keep up with him. The reality was that the first steps were with him dragging her but, after a few seconds, she gathered herself and regained control of her body. She squared her shoulders back and with her forehead raised she began to take determined steps forward; she might not have agreed to marry if Thomas hadn't threatened her, but that didn't mean she was going to walk into that room with her head lowered.

Thomas was waiting for her at the end of the hallway that had been delimited by the chairs of the people who were attending the event. He was talking to a woman who was probably the one who was going to marry them off. However, in the moment he heard the excited murmurs of the people, he turned around to see her.

Their eyes met and everything around seemed to stop for a millisecond. The noise disappeared and she felt like she was walking on clouds when she saw him smile excitedly.

The black suit fitted him perfectly and a part of her couldn't wait for the honeymoon to come; maybe it was just clothing but there was something extremely sexy in Thomas with a suit, surely, it would be the only chance she would have to admire him before escaping from him. In that moment she knew that no matter what happened in the future, she could never forget that magical moment when their gazes met.

Randall left her next to her fiancé and, with a knowing smile directed at the boy, he went to sit in the front row next to Ladena, who ignored him olympically, and Janson. As Lyn took her designated spot, Thomas gently grasped her hand and squeezed it when he saw that she was shaking.

-We are gathered here to celebrate the union of these soul mates. There is nothing that can unite them more than they already are. However, today is a day to celebrate their love and the bright future that lies ahead.
