Chapter 115: The Resonant Chamber

Edward Cogsworth's return to the Magne Palace was met with many of the servants hugging him and most of them were in tears, but it was Alfred's reaction that outdid them all. Alfred appeared from the hallway leading to one of the many sitting rooms scattered throughout the Palace with a empty teapot and tea cup on a tray. He had helped himself to a cup of tea earlier, during the British Teatime in honor of his friend, only to see his old friend standing before him in the lobby surrounded by grinning crying servants.

He dropped the tray and the teapot and teacup shattered. "Edward?"

"I'm sorry I missed our ritual teatime old friend."

The elderly long lived Imp ran over and hugged his dearest friend. Edward grinned and patted Alfred's back. "Missed you too old friend."

"Explain. Now!"

One explanation later...

Alfred swatted Edward with Edwards own top hat. "This Is Why You Don't Tinker With The Cooling Systems You Nitwit!"

"Sorry...now give me my hat!"

Lilith smiled softly as Alfred handed Cogsworth his hat back. Charlie was grinning as he stood up with a mechanical shifting of his joints and steam from his neck and shoulder apparatuses. He smiled with his golden-bronze mustache moving in a twitching motion as his lips turned into a grin.

"Now let's see how well my grand invention has been tuned over these past three years?"

Lucifer chuckled. "I assure you between Alfred, Lilith, and I we've kept it in working order."

"Ha, though I don't doubt your claims I'll be the judge of that!"

He lead them down to the lower levels of the palace near Lucifer's Music-Box Room.

He opened the door and what they saw inside took their breath away.

"Behold my masterpiece, the Resonant Chamber!"

Alastor's jaw unhinged as he walked around it. "A guitar and harp combination..."
