Saturday rolled around and instead of working with his friends, Matt decided to stay behind and work at the mechanic store with his dad.

He spent most of the morning, working.

"Geez, Matt," Harrison said, "you need to stop."

"Dad, I don't have any plans," Matt said, "so might as well work today."

"No," Harrison shook his head. "You have plans."

"No, I don't -"

"Jack and Evan are going to the country club," Harrison said, "and you're going with them."

"What?" Matt said, backing away from the car he was fixing.

"You are," Harrison said. "You're taking Rose with you."

"Isn't she hanging out with Max?"

"Oh, dear God," Harrison said, "there's no way in hell she's going to hang out with that kid."

"Tell that to Max," Matt said, standing up. "He won't leave her alone."

Harrison chuckled. "Yeah, I probably should."

"Do I really have to go to the country club?"

"Yes," Harrison said. "Go ahead and change."

Matt groaned.

He got ready and joined Jack, Evan and Rose.

"Ready to go?" Evan asked.

Matt nodded.

"Let's go," Jack smiled.

Matt, Jack, Evan and Rose headed over to the country club that Jack's family belongs and spent most of the day there.

Matt noticed a girl with curly blonde hair over by the pool. She was with her friends, talking.

"Isn't that GiGi?" Matt asked.

"Oh, yeah," Jack said. "Her family belongs to this country club."

"Ugh," Rose rolled her eyes. "I don't like her. She's a jerk."

"Tell me about it," Jack said.

"Who's GiGi?" Evan wondered as they walked over to a couple of the chairs by the pool and set their things.

"She's this girl we go to school with," Jack said. "A huge bitch. She's always out to get Alex and I since we were in kindergarten."

"Don't get me started her crush on Matt," Rose said.

Evan looked over at GiGi and looked back.

"We try to avoid her at all costs," Jack said.

Matt nodded.

Matt sat down and laid on chair.

"Come on, Matt," Rose said, trying to pull her older brother from the chair.

"No, I don't want to," Matt said.

"Please, Matt," she begged. "Jump in with me."

"Rose," Matt said, "I don't want to jump in."

"Why not?"

"Because of my scars," he lowered his voice only for his sister to hear.

"Matt, no one's going to look twice at your chest," Rose pointed out.

"But they will with the ones on my face," Matt said.

"Matt, come on, please," she begged.

Matt gave in. "Alright, fine. I'll jump in."
