JULY 2005

y/n's pov.

I was terrified.

The street was sweeping past me at too many miles per minute and the wind violently blew my hair behind me. Then to add to it, Mitsuya never wore a helmet when riding his motorcycle. I had an urge to scream but instead it translated to me gripping onto Mitsuya the tightest that I could.

Of course, I have ridden on motorcycles before with my brother but it was different. I could trust him with my life. On the other hand, I've only known this boy for not even a full hour and was practically putting my life in his hands. I couldn't help not burying my face into his back to prevent myself from having to look at the ground and I could sense Mitsuya's utter amusement.

'Well him and this motorcycle can go fucking--'

"We're here, Y/n."

I quickly separated myself from him and dusted off my skirt once I got off of the motorcycle. I glanced around the darkened area and noticed a shrine in front of us. The area was lit up by the various lights of other motorcycles pulling in and building a crowd of people.

Hakkai pulled in moments after and nodded his head at Mitsuya. "Maybe Y/n should of rode with me. You were freaking her out with your crazy speeding," he scolded Mitsuya who turned his eyes away from me and feigned innocence. I glared at him and pulled at his collar to force him to meet my eyes.

"There she is~"

"What are you talking about?"

"The girl who showed me up in front of my house. I figured I owed you one," he teased with a lazy grin.

I didn't know what he was referring to but I felt some sense of karma hitting me with a wave of embarrassment. I decided to release his collar from my hand and Mitsuya patted my head as a way to rub in his victory against me.

"Stay by Hakkai and I, alright?"

"I got it," I grumbled and walked between the two of them as each of them greeted people passing by. They'd give me a brief introduction before continuing on and some members would whistle out to me as I walked but I decided not to pay mind to them.

Hakkai wandered off to talk to some other members while Mitsuya seemed completely focused on finding someone and I kept following behind him. Eventually, my eyes landed on a blonde boy with tall hair being threatened by one of the Toman members. I recognized that it was Takemichi and instinctively went to run over but, a hand held me back by my shirt.

"I don't need you getting into any fights around here, it'll start more conflict."

Instead, he pulled me back beside him and walked towards the scene. "Hang on, are you Takemitchy?" Mitusya questioned and the blonde seemed relieved to see someone.

"Y-yes," he said as he was being held by his collar.

"What're you scarin the commander's guest for?" Mitsuya scolded and hit the guy with his knee with furrowed brows of annoyance.

"T-terribly sorry, sir."

Takemichi coughed and held his throat after he was released while a girl stood beside him with concern written on her face. I knew exactly who she was. Kisaki had been molding me to imitate Hinata for the past four years of my life.

She was kind and sincere.

Beautiful and modest.

Maybe some part of me wanted to hate her.
