am i a joke to you?

the same day , as amaury got himself ready for work , aurelia had been placed on top of his bed .

aurelia watches as amaury put pants on a top , and some cologne .

soon after , amaury already changed her diaper then as they were on their way to leave , aurelia peed herself , which sent amaury back to the changing room .

amaury looks down at aurelia as she makes grabby hands , "do i look like a joke to you ." he murmurs as he removes the recently changed diaper , throwing it to the trash , then opening a brand new diaper .

by now , he's gotten skilled in baby diaper changing , there had been one incident that aurelia peed during the process of him changing her diaper .

One year earlier ; April 7th , 2017 .

the hospital had been busy as usual , but a special surgery had to be done , so Doctor Clermont was sent to the Beaujon Hospital .

later into the surgery , Doctor Clermont was able to take a quick break then was sent back in to perform yet another operation on the patient .

the entire surgery had gone successfully and soon everyone was able to be at rest and enjoy themselves .

again , amaury met with her , and the two soon became good acquaintances , then afterwards he took her out to dinner , "aurelia" he says with a smile to his face as he helps her into the chair and the waiter brought them glasses of water .

present day ; september 11th , 2018 .

amaury had woke up from the same nightmare , his heart was pounding , and his palms had been sweaty , he had taken deep breaths in before realising that nothing's bad is happening .

amaury decided to go see aurelia , aurelia had been peacefully sleeping in her crib then she woke herself up and played with the stuff animals in her crib .

amaury observed aurelia playing with her stuff animals , then she noticed and gave amaury the biggest toothy smile .

months had gone by , and she was growing in her first teeth , she started to gnaw on everything she could see , including amaury's ties or watches .

amaury had to buy more pacifiers since she had chewed through most of them .

later into the day , aurelia peed herself in the process of her diaper getting changed , "diapers are pointless , we should just leave you naked ." he mutters in frustration as he grabs another diaper . finally he managed to put aurelia into a onesie that was of a bear and made aurelia look so adorable , soon after he picked her up and walked to the kitchen .

. . . a year later . . .

2019; aurelia recently turned a year in a half years old , amaury every now and then had reoccurring nightmares of her , one night he decided to place aurelia beside him while he slept , it was her presence that kept him calm .

aurelia would gnaw on her pacifier as she would stare at the ceiling then to amaury who was sleeping , she was bored .

she wanted to play , so she crawled on top of amaury's sleeping form , then gnawed on his hair which had startled amaury , he opened his eyes and was ready to kill whoever was near him , but reality set in and he realised it was none other than aurelia , he simply smiled at her . the baby didn't notice she had waken amaury up , so she continued , "hey , is my hair that tasty to you ?" he asks , aurelia looked up to him as if she was caught red handed .

"It's already been a year" he begins to say as he picks her up while he gets off the bed , "do you think you can say your first word?" he asks , aurelia just looks at him confused , "well , my name's amaury , I know that's hard to say , so you can say mori" amaury says , he didn't feel like it was his place to ask her to call him daddy , aurelia just kept quiet and didn't bother saying anything .

it was during their dinner out at a restaurant that aurelia said her very first word , "dada" she says making grabby hands at amaury , amaury froze , his heart was clenching and his chest felt weird , he didn't know what to call it but he didn't want to cry in public so he kept a stoic expression , "yes , what is it ?" he asks , she made more obvious that she wanted to be picked up , amaury finally got the message and picked her up from the booster seat and placed her on his lap , "you're so adorable" he murmurs playing with her tiny hands as he looks through the menu .
