Kim's POV
His lips moved above mine. Kissing me hungrily, as if he couldn't get enough of it. His soft lips were kissing me again and again. I had waited eight years. Eight years to feel those soft lips again.
I began to kiss back, tangling my fingers in his soft hair. He pulled me even closer, deepening it, then slid his tongue along my lower lip. As much as I wanted to let him in and keep going, I couldn't. I need to stop. I can't do this.
I pulled away and tried to catch my breath.
"Kim, please." He whispered, his hot breath hitting my face as he leaned it again.
"No. Kendall, I'm sorry. I can't." I moved out of his grip, but he grabbed my arm.
"No." He said.
"What?"
"Why not?"
"I- I don't know."
"Kim, do you remember what you made me promise?" He asked.
What did I make him promise? Not to forget me? Keep in touch? Call me every week? What?
I slowly shook my head. He stared into my eyes. "Promise me you'll love me as much as you love me right now."
FLASHBACK
"Kendall, promise me one thing." I said.
"What is it?"
"Promise me, that if we ever meet again, you'll love me as much as you love me right now." I told him, tears building up in my eyes.
"I will."
END OF FLASHBACK
"Well?" He asked, as I came back to my senses.
"I- I don't know." I stuttered.
"You don't remember?" He asked, his voice shaking, unstable.
"I do." I told him, wishing I could melt into the earth.
"Then?" He pressed on the question.
"I can't." I confessed.
"W-why not?" He asked, his voice becoming weaker, and weaker.
"I- I just can't. I'm really sorry Kendall."
"Kim, no," His voice broke. "Don't do this to me. Please Kim." He pleaded, a few tears running down his cheeks, his eyes turning red. But I had no choice.
"I'm sorry."
