Chapter 23 (Prequel): Battle

Mina's POV:

Rise and Shine, 2 days since our arrival in this gigantic castle. Somehow, no wake-up calls-I quit on my job. There's no cause for me to resign, I decide to halt myself into business. The sunlight passed through the window as it was pressed at the bedsheet. The mirror in front of me reflected on myself. I looked so stressed. Amazing, smirking myself at my image. I'll mentally remember this.

After the essence of refreshment on my body, roaming the castle by myself before going down using the elevator inspired by 15th cen-everything was on 15th-century inspiration! I should explain it again!? Sorry, I'm being rude.

Men and women were having a strategic session with the soldiers who served as their "AI". Gabriel brought himself here for practice, so do the Emperor himself. Well, maybe I'll be watching them for a while. Kai was also there, a friend of mine having a practice.

I sight of him battling with a soldier seems "entertaining", his battling skills may amuse someone, he also has magical that was a gift from the gods, agile and swift moves-well, everyone since he's handsome and one of a kind. I don't know what vibe was in me today-sounds like a challenge I should accept.

I stood up and grabbed a bamboo stick in a box beside me.

"Gabriel!" I called him as I walked towards him, ignoring my presence, he was focusing on his enemy and sincerely devoted before he had won the practice, I smirked.

"Well played, let's see what you're made of, alpha." The arena was cleared as the atmosphere was getting intense, walking to my position, spinning the sword expertly with pieces of evidence of perfection.

He smirked.

"Before anything else, magic is allowed and no assistance." He nodded.

The battle began, I did a lot of swift moves however everything's was misses, we switched positions. It was his turn, we were far apart. Dashed towards as I observed what will be his next action before the movement called slash took action in upwards motion. An alert caused a swift jump in no time to his back.

An opportunity to knock him out with a kick knocked him out, with a loud thud that can be heard around the room. Pointing the bamboo stick to his nape.

"Got you," I smirked.

"Ack!" I was knock backed a bit and collapsed on the mattress, mattress for safety. Shook my head for my consciousness to return in no time, stood up not wasting any moment. Far enough like a while ago.

"Isn't easy as you think, Glacier. I like you." I smirked, blasted his magic like a ray however a rectangular crystalized shield on my arms appeared out of nowhere reflected the light, bouncing everywhere before it crashed through the window, leaving a hole. I was surprised and amused at the same time, looked at my hands and shivering vigorously, oh god.

"What was that?!" I wasn't over the scenario. "Cool!" I smirked playfully.

"This is the practice that you should PRACTICE." Blasted another magic like a pitcher on the baseball team. While it was coming, my position changed into a batter and swang the bamboo stick to the right caused a collision, again. Now there are 2 windows broken.

Another ray of magic traveled to be blocked in no time.

"Alright, what about...?" His magic was able to control the remaining bamboo sticks in the box, his hand was glowing with white glitter, sparkling thing or whatsoever, another challenge but hey, I got this.

I raised a brow before the remaining bamboo sticks flew together without my hands glowing, placed them on my back without any single movement created. revolved them around in a fast motion, I saw his reaction, surprised and impressed.
