The Exchange Event

Time seemed to be something you ignored now

Time seemed to be something you ignored now. It was already the exchange event, and your ankle had healed. After the incident, you and Inumaki pretended nothing had happened. Instead, he seemed slightly more open when he saw how you reacted.

Standing with the second years and Fushiguro, you ate a sandwich for your breakfast. Kugisaki was surprisingly taking a while, making you wonder what was up.

The golden threads of sunlight painted the sky bright. Rays scattered across the path in front of you, you remembered that it was already August.

From where you were from, fireworks were set off in the sky in August. You and your mother once opened the window to the veranda, gazing at the windless evening sky.

Surrounded by the tall buildings, the fireworks had burst into flowers. You remembered her gentle smile, making you slightly grin too.

However, you glanced upwards as soon as you heard Panda ask,

"What are you doing with all that luggage?"

You stared, dumbfounded at Kugisaki, who replied,

"What do you mean? We're going to Kyoto, right?"

"Oh my god," You muttered as you facepalmed yourself.

"It's an exchange event with our sister school in Kyoto," Panda responded, "Held in Tokyo."

You chuckled to yourself, asking Inumaki if he wanted one of your sandwiches. Slightly hesitant at first, you assured him,

"You probably haven't eaten yet. Have some. It's too much for me, anyway."

Soon, you saw a group of students approaching you all.

"Oh look, it's everyone from Tokyo together," You heard Mai say aloud, making you slightly annoyed.

"Okkutsu's not here," Todo sigh, scratching his head next to Mai.

Suddenly, you heard a clap.

"Alright then," The Jujutsu High student supervisor, Utahime Iori, said, "Now, where's that idiot?"

Behind you, you heard Panda state,

"Gojo is late."

"He's always late," Maki grumbled.

In the distance, the sound of rolling wheels slowly grew louder.

"Sorry for the wait!" Gojo exclaimed, pushing a large enclosed cart.

"I was on a business trip," He explained, "So I'll now hand out souvenirs!"

Watching everyone's unamused faces, you held in your laughter.

"Alright. Everyone from Kyoto gets this protective charm from a certain tribe."

"None for you, Utahime," He teased, in which Utahime angrily shouted back,

"I don't need one!"

"And for everyone from Tokyo, we have this!" Gojo finally faced you.

Suddenly, the cart opened, and everyone was staring intently at it.

You watched as Itadori jump up, introducing himself in a flashy and odd manner. You all stood still, processing the nightmare you just witnessed. What.

"Alright, everyone from Kyoto," Gojo pushed the cart, turning it over to the Kyoto students,

"This is Sukuna's vessel, Itadori Yuji!"

The principal's voice abruptly surprised you,

"Sukuna's vessel? What is the meaning of this?"

"Oh, thank goodness," Gojo replied, leaning downwards to look at the frowning principal,

"I was worried you just might die from shock."

Suddenly, you didn't have the appetite to finish your sandwich.

After listening to Masamichi's explanation of the event, you were all dismissed until noon. You stayed in a room with the rest, about to discuss the plans. Inumaki sat on a platform with Panda. Noticing you, Inumaki scooted over, patting at the space next to him.

You thanked Inumaki, sitting next to him. After a few bickerings and explanations, Maki finally spoke up, crossing her arms,

"So, what's the plan? Do we change strategies? There's not much time."

"Bonito flakes," You heard Inumaki say next to you.

"Well, that depends on Itadori," Panda answered.

Stretching his arms, Fushiguro followed with his statement that Itadori had definitely grown stronger. Everyone looked at him with surprise at his confidence. Sighing, Maki stated,

"Toudou's a monster. The worst possible outcome would be that we all face him and get wiped out. We planned to leave only one person behind, either Panda or Fushiguro."

Glancing at Itadori, she instructed,

"Itadori, we'll leave that role to you. We rather not lose anyone who can scout out our enemies. You don't have to beat him. Just hold out as long as possible and buy us time."

Agreeing with Maki, you felt Inumaki tap on your shoulder.

"Hm?" You asked, turning around.

"Mustard leaf," He replied, fidgeting his fingers.

Chuckling, you assured him,

"You be careful, too."

After the discussion, you left to get some fresh air. Yuji's sudden appearance left you uneasy. Though you'd been feeling uneasy the past few days.

Nestled next to a large tree, you sat on a small bench. As morning started to pass, you watched the carefree clouds wander astir. You also started to smell the faint scent of rain in the cool air.

Clenching your fists, you thought to yourself,

I won't let anyone get hurt. Not again.

You had a second chance, and you weren't going to fail again.
