Chapter 36: Right

Today, Esther woke up before I did. She went out and I had no idea where she had been to. Nagkita lang kaming dalawa before 8 AM which was the schedule of our breakfast. I ended up joining kuya Clark and Eric downstairs.

While Eric and kuya Clark was talking about random things, mostly cute male writers, I was so vigilant of not crossing path with Javi. In a moment when Javi was being mentioned by kuya Clark na medyo kinikilig pa, Eric was able to divert the attention to Javi's friend; magaling kasing magdivert ng topic si Eric.

During breakfast, magkatabi kami ni Lucas, I seated between him and Eric. Kinurot pa nga ako sa tagiliran ni Eric when Lucas took the seat next to me. I was just so glad kasi wala namang unwanted topic sa mga random talks namin sa table while having our breakfast.

It was around 9 in the morning when the hosts allowed us to go to our respective groups. After breakfast kasi may clusters na kung saan pupuntang lugar, because we were to have an investigation around Dagupan City especially doon sa community na malapit sa dagat. I heard the information we were to get were those to be used in the competition.

Consequently, I would say this is unfortunate because wasn't grouped with Lucas; and in the group where I belonged with Eric and Ben, was the same group where Javi and his friend belonged, while the other group had Marisa, Esther and Lucas. Kung paanong ito ang naging groupings ay hindi ko rin alam, but I heard kaming pupunta sa Dagupan were the first timers of this Campus Press Conference ng Collegiate Level Campus Press Organizations of the Philippines Central Luzon Chapter. While sila EIC and the rest of the seniors went to different place kasi hindi na ito ang first time nila sa ganitong conference.

"Bakit kaya hindi natin kagroup sila Luke? Tsk!" I heard Ben mumbles in frustration.

"Minsan ka lang mahiwalay kay Lucas nagkakaganyan ka na! Nandito naman ako!" Sagot ni Eric sa kanya.

"Si Lucas ba talaga?" I teased him. Alam ko namang it's either Lucas or Esther ang gusto niyang makagroup.

"Duh? Friend, syempre! Sino pa ba?" Natawa ako nang mamula ang mukha ni loko. Sus.

"Baka kasi kako gusto mong kagroup si Esther," I told Ben and he became troubled so I grinned at him.

"Hmm...Pwede rin..." Kachar nitong si Ben. "Basta hindi sana kagroup si Eric."

"Well, too bad for you, because we're group mates." Eric rolled his eyes.

"Argh! Kaasar. Gusto ko siyang kagroup," Ben mumbled pero narinig ko ng mabuti.

"We'll be in the same place later, the only difference is that we are not with them during the interview," I explained to Ben. "Prepared na ba 'yong questions niyo?"

"Mine, yessy!"

"Okay na rin 'tong sa akin. Magfofollow up na lang ako mamaya kapag may gusto pa akong malaman."

After that conversation we headed to the bus na maghahatid sa amin papuntang Dagupan. Nakapila kami by publication paakyat sa bus. I focus myself to my friends so I will not be able to glimpse at Javi if he is nearby, which I know he is because I can feel his gaze against my skin.

"Hoy." I heard my favorite tone of "Hoy" behind me, so I immediately turned my head over my shoulder to see Lucas. However, we both moved our heads back kasi muntikan nang magtama ang mga mukha namin since his head was leaning forward down in my ear level when I abruptly looked at him.
