Yesmeen..
Sunlight poured through the white curtains, casting a yellow glow that danced on the pillows and bed. I perched on the edge of the bed, a half-filled cup of coffee in my hand, and my hair all messy in a bun.

"It's 11am on a Saturday morning," I mumbled, trying to speak clearly despite my sleepiness. I glanced at my phone lying on the mattress, which emitted a groan.

"Meen, you better hurry up and get over here!" I groaned back, gulping down my coffee way too fast, causing it to scorch my throat.

"If you think I'm leaving my cozy spot so early in the morning, you're dead wrong, Ammar. I need to finish my coffee and put on some real clothes."

Birds chirped outside the window, and I closed my eyes, almost dozing off into my cup. Everything felt hazy, from the swirling coffee to the peculiar sound of the birds. Were they always up this early?

"Meen, come in your PJs if you have to. I promise you'll be glad you come!" Ammar urged.

I rolled my eyes, slamming my cup on the table, and a few drops splattered onto the pristine white pillow sheets, joining the collection of stains.

"But whyyyy?" I whined, sinking into my bed, longing to burrow back under the covers.

"Um, just because I said so! Come onnn!" Ammar insisted.

"I don't know what's gotten into Ammar lately. He's been acting so different. Plus, today is Ameera's day. I don't know why he's asking me to meet him at his place ASAP. He woke me up with his call, and I don't want any trouble with Ameera again."

One thing I'm grateful for is that Ammar and I have gone back to being our normal selves.yussy visited me last week but she never step to Ameera part.

"I'm hanging up on you," I muttered, rolling my eyes and steadying myself with the bedside table. The clock on my nightstand showed 11:30 am. Definitely too early for a Saturday.

I rummaged through my closet and grabbed a plain white hoodie, pulling it over my tank top. My pink flannel pajama pants were just too cozy to part with. "Well, off to Ammar's place," I mumbled, yawning as I made my way downstairs.I really hope his annoying wife isn't there this time. I won't tolerate her nonsense again.

I rang the doorbell repeatedly, but there is no response. "Ammar, I swear to god! I woke up for this!" I yelled, kicking my foot against the door. Surprisingly, it didn't hurt, and I frowned down at it.

Seconds later, the door swung open, hitting me in the head. I let out a string of curses under my breath, glaring at Ammar, who is now standing before me. It seemed like whatever is making him so excited  is too much for him to handle.

"What the heck, Ammar?! That hurt, dude!"

"Sorry, sorry. You'll live. Come on, let's go to the garden!" he exclaimed, pulling my arm. I rubbed my head with my other hand, trying to ignore the growing pain.

"Seriously? Why didn't you just say so? I've been ringing the doorbell for like five minutes!"

"Whatever! Look!" Ammar gestured wildly towards the garden.I let my hand drop to my side, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in my head. I followed his gesture and gazed out at the garden but didn't quite know what I should be focusing on. The grass? The flowers? The chairs ? Why the hell am I here?

He pushed my head towards a floating lantern and I sighed, saying, "Oh." As he walked closer to it, I asked, "What's that?" He replied, "Obviously, it's a lantern."

Curiosity got the best of me, so I went near it, reaching out my hand to touch it. But he smacked my hand away just in time, warning me not to touch it. Instead, he picked up a lighter and lit it. At first, nothing happened, and I gave him a glare. But then, the lantern started opening. "Well, wow, it opens quickly," I remarked.
