BTP KABANATA 3

A week has passed since I last saw Satan. He was probably enjoying our vacation... or probably just reading in his room. Studious is an understatement to describe him. He likes studying and reading kaya siguro kilala siya sa med school.

Kev said Satan is famous in their building. He's famous not just because he's brainy, but because he's like those typical cold guys in books. Nabalitaan din daw niya na consistent honor student siya ever since elementary. Nico is his younger brother. Mayroon din daw silang ate na third year medical student na rin.

Napanguso ako. He's so smart, nakaka-intimidate minsan. Pakiramdam ko lalo akong mabobobo kapag naging close kami. Though, I doubt it. Mailap sa tao si Satan. He barely makes friend. Yes, he has friends pero tatlo lang ata, kapatid niya pa 'yong isa. Basically, he's out of my league.

I'll still push my luck. What if I have a chance pala, right? I can't just give up. I hate giving up in the first place. The more he resists, the more that I want to get him. Mukhang crush na crush ko na ata talaga siya. He's my first ever crush.

Inayos ko ang mga dadaling kong libro para pumasok. It's already Monday, so I need to attend my classes. We had a one-week health break, but it didn't feel like a rest. Puro aral, highlight, at tulog lang ako. Heck. I didn't enjoy the health break.

Dalawang libro lang ang dinala ko ngayon because I'll use my iPad. I saw Satan use his ipad for trances, so might as well hop to the bandwagon. Mabuti na lang at may nagsesend naman pala ng pdf copy sa group chat naming kaya hindi ko na kailangan mamoblema.

I was about to enter Starbucks when someone called my name. "Veraine!" I was Nico with his usual grin. "Sabay na tayo, ah." I just shrugged and pushed the door.

I ordered a java chip while he ordered a matcha drink. "Madalas ka ba dito?" tanong niya sa akin. I shook my head and looked at the time. I only have 1 hour left. I need to go now since my building is far from here.

Inunahan ko na sa paglakad si Nico. I felt his presence behind my back, but I didn't give him a single glance. May hangover pa ako mula sa bakasyon kaya bad mood ako. I don't want to snap in front of him naman since he's nice to me.

"Ang tahimik mo bigla."

"Ayaw lang kitang kausap," sabi ko na ikinatawa niya.

"Ganito ba talaga kapag may monthly period?" he laughed.

"I still have a hangover." I yawned, making my eyes watery. Inaantok pa talaga ako. Ayoko pa ngang pumasok ngayon araw pero may graded recit kaya wala akong choice. Naghahabol ako ng grades dahil baka naibagsak ko pala ang midterm naming.

"Uminom ka?"

I frowned. Akala ata niya uminom ako ng alak. "Tanga, what I meant was I still have a Monday hangover. I feel like kulang pa 'yong one-week health break. Pagod pa utak ko." Totoo naman, feeling ko talaga kulang pa ang bakasyon. I feel tired maybe because I just studied the whole week. Sana kasi binigyan ako kahit konting talino ni Lord.

Nagulat ako nang sumama rin si Nico sa building ng mga nursing student. Balak pa ata akong ihatid. I looked at him, frowning. "I don't like suitors, okay?" My brows arched.

He looked at me with a confused face. Agad siyang nakabawi at tumawa, getting everyone's attention. "Don't tell me iniisip mo na ihahatid kita?" Tumango ako. Kung hindi niya ako ihahatid, edi anong ginagawa niya dito?

"You're crazy," I whispered, enough for him to hear. "Stop laughing, Nico. Mukha kang gago."

His eyes widened, and his jaw dropped, revealing his white and aligned teeth. "N-Nagmumura ka?" he stuttered.
