"Nico called," Satan said, sitting beside me. We're still here at Subic, but we're about to go home. May tumawag bigla sa kaniya kaya iniwan niya muna ako.
"What did he say? It has been weeks since I last saw him. I kinda miss him..." I said, sighing. Nico and I aren't as close as I am with Cloud. But still, he was the first one in our school who talked to me.
"He wanted us to come to Baguio next week," he said.
"Who are we with?"
"My other friends. Vio and Serge, and maybe their girls," he answered.
"Nandoon ba si Chanel?" I asked. Bigla ko siyang naalala nang sabihin ni Satan na sasama s Vio. Last time I saw them, it was when Satan and I went to the grocery.
Satan suddenly chuckled. "He's having a hard time pleasing Chanel right now, but we'll see," ngumisi siya.
"You look like a real satan when you smirk," I blurted out.
"What?" his forehead wrinkled.
"You look like satan right now. It's not that I know his face. I just feel like you kinda look like him," I said, looking at the sun setting down. "Oo nga pala... Tell Nico that we will come. I miss that guy and Chanel. I want to hang out with Chanel, Mina, and Kev. That would be great, right?" I babbled.
It would be so nice if the four of us would hang out. We'll make a pretty circle of friends.
"I'll call him later," he said, patting my head. "But I'm afraid Mina won't come," he sighed.
"You're right..." I said sadly. "Should I call here?"
Satan shrugged. I took up my phone from my pocket and dialed Mina's number. I thought she wouldn't answer the phone, but to my surprise, she answered it seconds after I dialed her number.
"Hello, Vera?"
"Hi! Are you good?" I asked.
It took her a few minutes before answering. "I'm okay..." she silently said. "Ano nga pala ang kailangan mo?" tanong niya.
"Grabe ka naman... I want to ask if you're doing fine. I'm worried about you," I genuinely said. "Ang I also want to invite you sa Baguio. Para naman makalanghap ka ng sariwang hangin. Puro na lang polluted air ang nalalanghap mo!" I laughed.
"Will Cloud come?" she seriously said. Napangisi ako dahil doon. After what happened to them, I know both of them still care for each other. No matter how life and destiny play with them, they'll still come back to each other's arms.
"Gusto mo bang tanungin ko siya?" Hindi siya sumagot. "Satan, could you please ask Cloud if he wants to come," I said, turning around to look at Satan, who was smiling. His hands were crossed against his chest.
"V-Vera..." Mina stuttered. "P-Pakitanong na rin kung ayos lang ba siya..."
I told Satan of what Mina said and he obligingly texted Cloud. Hindi ko na binaba ang telepono.
"He's coming," sabi ko habang nakatingin sa reply ni Cloud kay Satan. I was peeking on Satan's phone when Cloud suddenly called.
"May narinig ako na nag-ring," sabi ni Mina.
Nagkatinginan kami ni Satan. Pinaglalaruan na naman ba kami ng tadhana? Kasing kung o, ngayon lang ata ako natuwa.
"Answer it," I whispered to Satan while covering my phone. "Let them talk to each other."
