Since they'd split up from the kids, Sam and Bucky had found tons of people. They had most of the Avengers, plus a horde of civilians that seemed to think they had some grand plan to save them all. Spoiler alert, they didn't, but they couldn't say that. They just kept walking, Sam and Bucky at the front, the others mingling with the citizens.

"Hey, what's that?" Bucky asked suddenly, cutting off their conversation. He was squinting into the distance.

"People?" Sam asked wearily.

"No..." Bucky started walking in that direction, and Sam jogged after him.

"Pants?" Sam asked in disbelief, staring down at the item of clothing.

"Pants," Bucky confirmed, just as confused.

"Hey, over there," Sam hurried over to another pair, just as oddly splayed as the first. "Hang on... they're arrows."

"What? Who..." Bucky trailed off, shaking his head in awe.

Soon the whole group was following the arrows, chattering hopefully. Sam really hoped they led somewhere.

They walked for ages. Probably days, maybe weeks.

"There," Bucky muttered, gazing at the horizon again with his enhanced sight. "A... a village."

They began walking a little faster, until Sam too could see the structure rising above the water. A ripple of excitement spread through the group behind them. There was a person walking towards them, a woman.

"Hello there! Wow, what a big group. We're going to need to hurry up with the extension." She fell into step with Sam and Bucky. "I'm Linda, welcome to camp! What are your names?"

"Sam and Bucky. The Falcon and white wolf?"

"Ah, the Avengers! Are the others with you? We were wondering when you'd show up. Wanda has been helping with the extension efforts for a while now, it's thanks to her you'll all be able to fit."

Sam and Bucky exchanged a glance - this woman didn't seem at all intimidated or impressed by them.

"Who runs this... 'camp'?" Bucky asked.

"Nobody, it's just a bunch of people working together to regain some normality. I wasn't here when they settled, but I've heard tales form some of the original group - Roger Harrington was the one who voiced the idea, but firm belief is that Spider-Man was the one to come up with it."

"Spider-Man?" Sam's eyebrows shot up.

"Yes. He thinks we don't know, but some of the originals saw his reflection whilst they were still walking. His identity's like an open secret. Nobody mentions it, but he never leaves the platform now."

"So he just does nothing because he's ashamed?"

"What? That's not what I said! He's actually a really active member of the camp, a huge help with tent construction and showing people around. He's really great with the kids, too. I'm pretty sure the only reason he doesn't tell us is because he likes just blending in with the community - he doesn't want people to look up to him. He's been through the works - you can see it in his eyes."

Sam scoffed and the woman frowned, but nodded before turning to address the whole group.

"If you wouldn't mind splitting into smaller groups of about ten for the camp tour and allocation, that would be great!"

The Avengers came to join Bucky and Sam at the front, and a teenage girl showed them around the cloth village. She was quiet, but her pride was obvious.
