I have a habit of sculpting people I like into Gods
and putting them up on a pedestal.

they're above all human flaws
can do no wrong,
prone to no human fallibility, no sin,
prone to never
l o v i n g
me.

if God looks at you
and then sees right past you,
you become someone not worthy of being seen.
if God mocks you,
your entire existence becomes a cosmic joke.

your worth dangles from His fingers,
and you start weighing it
by the number of times
He calls your name,
texts you "hey",
leaves you on read.

//

you see, I have a habit of sculpting people I like into Gods
and forgive me, but I sculpted you into one.
realising a little too late that if God doesn't love you,
you become someone not worth loving.
